Since I'm here now. Stuff already dropped off at Andrew's place, currently killing a bit of time in a Net cafe, catching up with mail, etc. So what's all this about most of you people not being able to come out tonight? *cries*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

This might have been reversed. At the moment it looks like something tonight and something Wednesday (possibly dinner (at Ireland's famous Foriegn Cuisine)). The thing this evening may start slowly.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, cool. I will pick up details as they happen, and slow is no problem...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I look forwards to having all this information shared with me.

hello Ned! I hope you are having fun in Ireland.

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I am! You can ponder my Conan length hair and make jokes about Arnie and I will see if you are dirty or not. Or is it the dirt that you sense rather than observe?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

You feeeel it.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Like a voibe?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Very much so.

Anyway, stop hanging around in an internet cafe and get out there!

(looks out window)

Yeah, fair enough. Have you seen Orisinal?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

did you go to the viking museum yet? did you see roving gangs of 10 year old girls in matching adidas tracksuits?

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, Andrew, I admit the weather made me think, "You know, nothing wrong with staying inside for a bit." ;-) I am loading this cat thing from Orisinal page as I type. I will still call around 6 pm or so and then ponder my map for further destinations.

Phil -- I have not, but that sounds like good random fun for tomorrow. If roving gangs ask for you by name I will send your regards.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

look, I don't want to sound like some kind of anal retentive, but could someone tell me what's happening later? my last communication from Andrew said that he was considering calling off this evening's FAP for various reasons.

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

We're plotting your murder because we hate you.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Dear DV: Read your goddamn mail. thx bye.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

But I just told him what the contents of the mail were! His death!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

More specifically: the Swan from 8.00. If anyone can get there earlier, let me know, as that will actually help me.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Dear DV: Read your goddamn mail. thx bye.

did you send it to the mailbox I can read from work? did you reply to my mail of this afternoon? evidently not.

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I sent it to the one that I sent the other mail I got a response to from. So to speak.

I'll buy you a pint if you're still annopyed when I see you.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I''m off now, further communication by mobile.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 13 October 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm off now too. see you c. 8.00pm

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 13 October 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned's gonna come back and he's gonna be all Raggett: Lord of the Dance and he'll tippitytappity tippitytappity tippitytappity his fuckin Raggettdance all over our faces, it'll be awexome.

Chris P (Chris P), Monday, 13 October 2003 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

That would also lead to his needing somewhere else to stay for the return London leg, of course.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 13 October 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

no Dudley?

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah i can see it now.. Flogging Raggett... Raggett sans hair, stomping around with a mug and mouth frighteningly wide open bellowing out tradition jigs to the punk rock, while sorority girls all hold up middle fingers in unisons saying "fuck yaah.. FLOGGING RAGGETT WOOOOOOOOOO! I'm drunk teehee"

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

shit i only saw this thread now! i shall definitely be at any happenings on wednesday...

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

did you see roving gangs of 10 year old girls in matching adidas tracksuits

Phil this description makes it like you'd lived in Dublin all your life! They also wear earrings the size of CDs.

I think I can make Wednesday, I am not 100 percent but I do expect to be there.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned's gonna come back and he's gonna be all Raggett: Lord of the Dance and he'll tippitytappity tippitytappity tippitytappity his fuckin Raggettdance all over our faces, it'll be awexome.

you laugh now.

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 08:24 (twenty-two years ago)

We're going for lunch at the Alliance Francaise (corner of Nassau Street and Kildare Street) at 1.00, if anyone's interested and wishes to come along.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

And I'll be there shortly (just catching up on things now).

To Messers Piuma and Bitch: the various invocations of Flogging Molly and Riverdance in my presence reminds me that though I like you and will kill you last, I might lie.

Last night: grand fun! Andrew, DV, Rener, past time a.m.a. and now ILX poster/lurker Paul and yers truly. A middle aged woman specifically loved my hair, my.

See everyone on Wednesday at the least! Including Lara, dammit. Dates are to be broken (if there were any).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Secondly,

Cruciverbalist, Tuesday, 14 October 2003 10:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I am having a Quiet Night In. If anyone has something to suggest for Ned to do, he'll be checking here at some point. If not, he'll happily have a Quiet Night In as well.

Tomorrow, I'm thinking we might do dinner in Monty's in Temple Bar followed by a pint or two. Monty's is a Nepalese restaurant (IE roughly Indian). Ned's pointed out that something similar will follow on Thursday, so we _might_ do something else if anyone can think of it.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm working til half8 tomorrow but I'll definitely be out for a pint or two after. is there someone i could txt / ring to find out where everyone is at?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

We have (currently) decided that tomorrow in order to steel Ned for the English softness of Curry then Booze, we will have Booze then Booze, starting from about 7.00 at the Lord Edward. And continuing there.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

excellent. where is the lord edward, though?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

A middle aged woman specifically loved my hair, my.

Prolly reminded her of her son/former boyfriend (delete one). Better a compliment than nowt.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

TLE is in Christchurch, where Dame St curves, next to the Jurys and Burdocks.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

We have (currently) decided that tomorrow in order to steel Ned for the English softness of Curry then Booze, we will have Booze then Booze, starting from about 7.00 at the Lord Edward. And continuing there.

"Softness"? Ha! Pictures must be had, esp. you've all been stuck in for a few hours and you can't tell the difference between that last mug and water.

(Hola Andrew, BTW)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i would like to head into to one of these faps, but i'm not sure when i'll be around over the next few days for various reasons...i'll try to head in to the lord edward tomorrow night, otherwise i'll be around on thursday after about nine if there is something going on...

robin (robin), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Kilian - I think we will be in the upstairs lounge of the Lord Edward.

Robin - you must wear a false beard so people will recognise you.

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned's back in London on Thursday, but yes, Robin should turn up to more FAPs

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Cruciverbalist bemuses me.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

A middle aged woman specifically loved my hair, my.

Does anyone want me to share the mental image I got from this sentence? Didn't think so.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Just what I was thinking, but I'd grossed out the ILX contingent enough for one week.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I demand pictures!

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 14 October 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

haha i had another beard until the other day...
i might be able to make it in tomorrow,is the whole thing going to be in the lord edward or will you be moving on after a while?

robin (robin), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it's the Lord Edward all night.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:23 (twenty-two years ago)

With occasional stumbling to that fish and chips place on the corner for replenishment, I gather.

Checking in for a bit before going on an afternoon wander. Chatted with Lara, who is clearly a Good Soul (she always was, but to reconfirm) and at her suggestion I will check out the James Joyce museum. I will do this in part in the name of Mike Daddino, who couldn't make it here.

Very good meal last night with DV and Rener! Then Andrew Farrell discovered the joys of Manos: The Hands of Fate and this morning I finished watching up the The Day Today videos he has. Dear lord god, I understand so much better now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Thirdly,

Cruciverbalist, Wednesday, 15 October 2003 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Nice hiding of the IPs there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyway, meeting Lara here in about twenty minutes or so, then apparently a night of ruin. There's been weirder, I tell you. See whoever I see there!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned! Did you get a ticket for that LOTR thing? Or are you picking them up on the day? Mine hasn't arrived yet :( I shall have to call them tomorrow, grrrr!

autobot lover -- (jel), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

"Nice hiding of the IPs there."

Cor blimey - just counting ... There's nothing sinister about counting, surely. On Jerry Springer's show incensed guests never get past a wag of the finger, an interrogative 'hello', and saying 'firstly'. 'Secondly' never comes. I'm not ashamed of my IP's. IP's ain't herpes. But if counting offends, or is interprted by yourself as trolling, that's not my intention and I will stop counting any second now. However, if I could be permitted to count on your threads in peace, (if counting is welcome - if you APPROVED), it would make one ditsy dude very happy indeed.

Cruciverbalist, Wednesday, 15 October 2003 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

*chuckle* Seriously, I'm not annoyed or anything, I'm just bemused! Count away. Are you around in the UK and Ireland and thoroughly sick of me? It's not unheard of. ;-)

Jel -- I'd call! My tickets are will call at the box office. Still planning on meeting up at the Science Museum a little before 2 pm?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

A middle aged woman specifically loved my hair, my.
Does anyone want me to share the mental image I got from this sentence? Didn't think so.

Pleeeeeeeeease?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

"Are you around in the UK and Ireland and thoroughly sick of me? It's not unheard of. ;-)"

I am around but not in the least sick of you - of course not; in fact I'm rather glad you seem to be having a spiffing time. Enjoy, enjoy! Did you catch Tuesday's episode of 'Early Doors'. The theme song is sung by Roddy Frame.

Fourthly,

Cruciverbalist, Wednesday, 15 October 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

did you make it to Lapellos after I left? maybe Ronan couldn't make it because he was "working"?

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 16 October 2003 08:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I am about to collapse but I just want to say -- DV, Rener, Lara, Brian, Brian's sweetie whose name I forget, Kilian, Mark, Angela and of course Andrew (and I apologize for missing anyone in that rundown there!) all rock beyond description and made the final night in Ireland a grand one. I will be back at some point! Thanks again, y'all are great. :-)

Ned at Martin's place (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 16 October 2003 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Ronan and Neddy were indisposed on the night in question...

Lara (Lara), Monday, 20 October 2003 19:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I hear the ladies of Ballyraggett are very annoyed that Ned never made it to them.

or was it Castle Raggett? I can't remember.

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

They'll have to learn patience.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

They play Patience to busy their hands. They wouldn't want to commit a sin.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Palming the Jacks is a sin?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

No, wanking is.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Hush now. Dan's innocent virgin ears will be corrupted. Or did I just jumble the spelling of 'ears' there?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't worry about Dan. He's, um, busy...

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Palming the Jacks is a sin? -- Dan Perry

No, wanking is. -- Lara

Lose that comma. Please.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:27 (twenty-two years ago)

The Pope says the comma stays. Slowly.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Perry seems to be putting in serious 'Dan time'.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

He loves the one he's with.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)
