Okay, here's the last time I messed with poetry. I wrote it about two years ago.....
A bitter song on the jukebox Cuts out the background sounds A gaggle of friends stand chattering
Drinking in sips I visibly shrink Clasped in the vastness of a barstool Distance grows with their laughter
In triumph with her dazzling blond hair Fran stands in their centre I shrank from the glare
Averting my eyes As if from a sunkissed glacier With cheekbones carved from fresh ice
But the air stank of stale beer Frostbitten, I left Peppered with blemishes.
---
File under juvenilia. Failing that, the dustbin.

DG, what the last poster said. Tape player headphone socket -> line or microphone input of soundcard should work ok, with careful level adjustment. Or I'd offer to do it for you but I'm rubbish and would end up not doing it or screwing it up so I won't.
I do nothing. Nothing creative, nothing useful. So I have nothing to show off. Maybe one day...

How can you stand me? I mean, I never shut up.
Oxes is goodses. A rockin' three-piece live Kids In The Hall sketch.. up there with Trumans Water, Climax Golden Twins, and Thinking Fellers for most fun live shows.
(Hope you like the Mp3s... :)

Of course, I also have poetry & a smattering of fiction @ my blessed web presence (cue gratuitous linkage) - check the POESING & FACTION portions of said presence if you're curious. Most of my poems are from my post-high-school / pre-college-take-two period, though I'm trying to get back on the wagon. Writing's a bitch, though, especially if you're impatient and extremely judgemental, and suffer from a crippling sense of creative inadequacy.
We should start a Tuff Love Mutual Admiration Society for our endeavors - unless this IS the TLMAS. Then never mind.

Next, you'll be admitting you're a Rob Crow or Andy Partridge fan.

I don't write much - very little creative. The usual factors - self- doubt etc etc. I sometimes toy with starting a "How can I improve my writing?" thread but I'm too thin-skinned.

I've got some mp3's of songs I've done using Rebirth that I may upload to a publicly accessible place once I convince myself they aren't crap.

Wasn't that URL Tom purchased (some spiny porcupine thing?) going to be used as a creative outlet of some sort for non-musical writerly stuff?

Sadly, Los Angeles hates Refrigerator -- probably because they don't take themselves nor "the scene" too seriously. Add to that: Dennis Callaci operates one of the best record stores in southern California (Rhino records in Claremont), so he gets extra jaded points -- which makes Refrigerator live shows more caustic to scenesters, and hence ever more entertaining...
I'll trade you Lightning Bolt & Arab-On-Radar for the 'Fridge & The Locust. Throw in Pink & Brown (a groop I've heard OF more than I heard), and I'll give up Aden AND True Love Always AND My Favorite. Oh, yeah. Or perhaps a Load Records / GSL exchange program can be discussed.
