I don't think you heard me: ISS PRO EVOLUTION 3.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Go outside and get some air. Honestly, students... :o)

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't dare go near the last one. And foolishly I thought I was free... but I have faltered. I have strayed from the path. I have allowed myself to be claimed by Soul Caliber II. Ahhhhhh - still, every soul needs a good calibrating every now and then.

Alex K (Alex K), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

a three day weekend was just spent with:

I have the goddamn Overworld theme stuck in my head. Kill me.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

the time is drawing near for me to buy a console

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

"SHOT OF A MASTER"

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Cubes are only a hunnerd bucks. Metroid is down to thirty.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 13:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I've played the demo of Pro Ev 3, it's way harder and more realistic than the previous one. Defending is much better. I have ordered my copy for Friday.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

sim city 4 is owning me right now

chris (chris), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

pro race driver and total immersion racing are drafting their way towards me as I type this.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I was a tester on ISS PRO EVO 3. Wicked good.

Liam Neeson (Cozen), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 20:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Tomorrow. Tomorrow.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 22:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Harder? I was hoping they'd making it easier. I think I've scored like one goal ever on Pro Evolution 1.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 23:02 (twenty-two years ago)

N you have to realise that the people who play this game have been indoctrinated into difficult football games since it first came out of the Super Nintendo. There was alot of talk that the last one was too easy. It was.

There is nothing like an ugly, tense, 0-0 draw in a football game.

Neeson is co-commentator Cozen.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 10:20 (twenty-two years ago)

oh god i wish i wasnt so broke now.....this sounds class

Michael B, Wednesday, 15 October 2003 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Football games are one of the few games where I can see the point of high difficulty.

Meanwhile I've been playing Zelda when I should have been writing about the Dreamweavers.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

It's manifested as realism rather than difficulty, ie no goals from 40 yards out etc but occasionally you might get one and it's better than ever. Also the thing to remember is that once you pick up ISS, every goal is satisfying, because alot are so realistic. If you beat 3 players and score it really is great and special rather than just another goal making it 7-6 as usually happens in football games. I do reckon you'd have to be really into football to get the best out of it though.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

b-b-but I made Robbie Keane score an overhead volley straight from a throw in? That ain't never going to happen.

It was sweeeeeeet though

chris (chris), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah but the reason I don't score is never for realistic reasons (ie. being hassled by defenders). I get clear on goal quite easily but I just can't shoot. I always spoon it into the stands.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

See? that's realism

chris (chris), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Trevor Sinclair's wasn't from a throw in, but if you scored it on the PS2 you would definitely say it would never happen in real life. 4 player ISS may be the greatest reason to stay in on a Friday night ever, there's nothing like playing with Northern Ireland and announcing at the beginning of every game that "it's a cold night in windsor park" Jackie Fullerton style.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Good point old boy, I may have to revisit iss 1 tonight after the Liverpool game. Mind you it takes me about three days of playing to get back in the swing again properly.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

OMFGTHISISAMAZING!

Liam Neeson (Cozen), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Although the commentary is a bit rigorous / professional / unfunny this time :(

TS: Old Firm Blue vs Old Firm Green
TS: Merseyside Blue vs Merseyside Green
TS: Lloyd [Man City, sports fans] vs Trad Bricks [Man Utd]
TS: WTF? vs OMFG

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

How do you have it already???? How????? Is it somehow out already? If so I am going a-buying.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 16 October 2003 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

The local games shop that I buy all my games from had it in yesterday (it always gets games in early, prides itself, hardcore gamers etc).

I think I'm still undecided about it. I played it for 10 hours (!!) yesterday.

There are some nice new touches: you can do the Zidane (step on the ball one foot after the other and swivel), you can do the Gascoigne (Euro 96 against Scotland, pop the ball over your head and the defenders'), you can set volleys up for yourself etc.

But I'm still unsure. There are some touches I just don't like (the new diagonal running animation - wtf? all hunched over like Quasimodo).

Everton, Tottenham, Villa - 60-odd Club teams this time round and a way way improved Training mode.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 16 October 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Mortals will have to wait till tomorrow to buy it.

Liam Neeson (Cozen), Thursday, 16 October 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

This may be your only chance to say Liam Neeson is OTM.

David. (Cozen), Friday, 17 October 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I love this game. One happy customer here. Back to the golden age of PS1 ISS, it took me a few hours to score a goal. But now I have the knack of it. Commentary disappointingly good.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 17 October 2003 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

AMAZING!

David. (Cozen), Saturday, 25 October 2003 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Trevor:At the moment they're just feeling each other out

Brackley: (intrigued) sounds like you're expecting a close encounter trevor!

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 25 October 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

It can't be long until they score.
It can't be long until they score.
It can't be long until they score.
It can't be long until they score.
It can't be long until they score.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 25 October 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

haha! best is: Number 1. Number 5. Number 1. Number 5. Number 1. Number 5. &c. &c.

David. (Cozen), Saturday, 25 October 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Why no 'Beloved' Brazil or 'Eternal' England? Huh? Why?!

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

This game is unnervingly like football.

But yeah 'surely it's only a matter of time before they score' and 'slowly now, they are turning the screw' (what the fuck?) are annoyingly overrepeated.

Ferg (Ferg), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

christ it's a good game. On sunday I had been on a major clubbing night out and went to bed for an hour or so. I then rose to find 2 mates had surfaced so we started playing, and began drinking cans and smoking spliffs. So anyway two of us began playing a world cup on the same team with Ireland, which we got very involved in, we beat England 3-0 on the way to the final and as we got more pissed it became the real World Cup, with other mates watching and cheering us on.

We won the final and opened champagne, it was brilliant, the closest I will ever get to experiencing Ireland winning a world cup.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 22:54 (twenty-two years ago)

< ali g>EASY BALL< /ali g>

HE TAKES IT UP THE MIDDLE!

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I've started playing pro evo one again, and now I want this sooo bad

chris (chris), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

chris - you need it. how can you breathe?!

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I won 3-0 against "Longobardi" (Brescia) last night in the Master League, it was a fantastic occasion at the "Red Cauldron" (anfield).

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

longobardi - are they the ones with baggio or the ones with signori? i thk the signori team are bologna (?) bt we couldn't figure out who the baggio team were.

i have co-opted rekordmeister (bayern) as MY team and have even used the DATA MANAGER option (wtf?!) for the first time to sort out my convoluted tactics. hargreaves retreating, scholl advancing, kickers and captains set up, makaay and elber up front (pizzaro on the bench!), OLIVER KAHN WHY CAN NOBODY BEAT YOU WHY HAHA?

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I think you'll find his name is OLIVER KALM

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I find with Bayern high balls into the box are very effective, you won't score many "picture goals" but you will win games.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

do you have a team of people helping you be INSANE? high balls with my beloved rekordmeister?! you will play it through the middle with scholl, you can maybe set it up so makaay peels off to one of the sides (um, 'formation' -> 'individual' -> diagonal-side arrow) to cross it for elber (who scores ONLY headed goals) or you can play DELIGHTFUL (spelled 'OHMYGOD') one twos between the best strikers in the game (my friend says they're rubbish; difft strokes of course) and score a net burster!

oh god i really shd stop playing this game.

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i have played about 23 games with rekordmeister.

approx. played 23, won 18, drawn 4, lost 1.

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm yet to play the computer though.

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah exactly, do the master league you amateur.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

haha FAProEvo!

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:24 (twenty-one years ago)

korsgaard (Cozen), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 6 November 2003 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 26 December 2003 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

no I am updating manually, over time.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 26 December 2003 19:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 26 December 2003 19:37 (twenty-one years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 26 December 2003 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)
