Here goes, just wondered if anyone has seen or read any of her plays, if so what do you make of her?

I played the evil witch-hunter Packer in her play 'Vinegar Tom' once. I enjoyed the experience (being in the play that is, not being an evil witch-hunter as such). I find her dialogue a bit stilted and worthy, but she knows how to string some good dramatic scenes together. I think plays like 'Top Girls' work best when you place them in their time in history. Has she made anything since 'Blue Heart'? That was very good. I think the mark of a good playwright is the specific use of the unique strengths of the theatre, and 'Heart's Desire' certainly does that. Go on, then: Flawed Classic.

The Skriker, that's her? I saw that, it's kind of strange. Basically a load of cursed/blessed by fairies motifs in a modern setting.

i have read 'blue kettle' (it was kettle wasn't it will? and, er, i think it was in a volume with 'heart's desire'? the whole volume being 'blue heart?') it was OK but pretty much par for the course for the whole language theory thing i was doing at university at the time. it was useful stucturally but i think i'd get bored actually having to watch the thing.

that does sound cool - how are you gonna do a sung play as non-musical?
