power was out in my 'hood this morning, and my bathroom has no windows, and i couldn't find my rav0r glowing balls to help provide guiding light, so i went to work all groggy and then told my tales and then someone told me the first floor of my work building had showers (!!!), so i took one. and now i'm not as groggy. the end.

I usually just scoop water on myself from the cooler.

I've taken to holding a lighter to the smoke detectors. Needless to say, I'm not very popular.

I wish I could've taken one at work today. I used my lunch hour (ie: the full hour) going on a long walk around the lakes in the park across the street. It was great and so pretty out, but also it made me feel kind of ick to go back into work after that. I needed a hosing down.

Donut - do you carry a towel with you everywhere *just in case*, or was it that when your workmate said "But there's a shower upstairs - here, you can use my towel. It's fairly clean"?

I kinda like it but as there is no temperature control it takes ages to get warm which leaves us in cold shower land int he winter, and in summer it seems to race to the warm/hot pointless position before I have cooled down. GAH!

The shower at home takes a while to warm up, so there are occasions when I just don't have enough time at home to have one in the evening/morning. When this happens, having a shower in work is better than the alternative. Considering that you're getting back into the same clothes, it's not as good as a well-ordered life.

i lived without hot water at home for about 6 weeks once because my shithead landlord wouldn't the boiler when it packed up. I showered every day at work or at the gym on weekends. it was ok, but i prefer doing it at home.

the only problem is with the people at work who are unable to fathom the etiquette of taking the shower key. If you are NOT in the shower, lock it and put the key BACK, when you are done, go and get the key again. It's not difficult, but there are always a number of Farmers of Cock who manage to find ingenious ways of fucking it up.

Having to work for an hour or so in your sweaty running kit just cos some twat has forgotten to return the shower key - c/d?

Reason key is essential - recently our shower was out of action cos some one had done a massive shit in it. nice. Now assuming it wasn't a work colleague, double-good on the security front, obv, but also well done for yet again failing to understand leave/lock/return thing.

(takes breath)

if you have to work in sweaty running kit work at the desk of the person who ballsed up the key thing. as for the shit, that's disgusting.
