waah. dud. my stomach hurts!

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

dud. if only beer wasn't so fattening by itself

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

it's like a small glimpse of how neanderthals lived

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 08:47 (twenty-two years ago)

dud. ate a lean salad for dinner last night for health's sake; which meant that the free wine at the party i went to went straight to my head. which meant that when i hit burger king, i had the raging hunger to buy a bacon double cheese, and lacked the self-control to deny myself this gooey, greasy delight. i remember swallowing; i *don't* remember chewing.

and today i feel ROUGH.

stevie (stevie), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

eating when drunk is a good way of overcoming fear/dislike for certain kinds of food e.g. i used to hate drinking coffee but then i drank some a couple of times after boozing and the next day realising that it wasn't that bad.

In a similar way I have also managed to overcome my fear of disease ridden hotdogs that you can buy from stands on Tottenham Court Road at night.

ken c, Tuesday, 28 October 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

don't neglect the inevitable mirror image question, drinking while fat, c/d?

Skottie, Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Classic, but you have to be careful. I never buy kebabs etc, since they're manky. I wait till I get home and have myself a sandwich of either a) chess and onion crips or b) fried egg. I only ever finish half, and by that time I'm usually zonked out anyway.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

classic until you eat something which makes you throw up.

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

you're my besht friend in the WHOLE WORLD and i love you!!

*weeps to dodgy kebab*

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I have never in all my kebab-eating life been sickened by one (in a literal sense, anyway). The ones made of dog that I had in Luton and galway, well, I was drunk, it didn't matter.

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Classic, eating when drunk is the best as you preceed to eat anything & everything in sight!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Totally, I don't know what you duds are on about. Being really hungry and drunk and devouring everything in sight = classic. Maybe it's because I never throw up.

NA (Nick A.), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure it's why kebabs exist!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, beyond classic, esp when it's a greasy breakfast at 4 a.m.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

obligatory

alext (alext), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes indeed!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

perhaps i should have said classic during, dud after.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:14 (twenty-two years ago)

do you SEE??

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

that said, eating AFTER drinking (i.e. as i was "coming down") saved my life on saturday.

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

so, uh, thanx to big poppa matos for suggesting, however obliquely.

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a point during the morning after where if you eat loads of food you wont have a hangover, but if you miss this point (or indeed it never occurs) you are in a whole heapa trouble!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:25 (twenty-two years ago)

my companion thread is grocery shopping while drunk: c/d. i went to the market last night on my way home and am now faced with a kitchen full of chocolate soy milk, amy's organic non-dairy burritos/soy cheese pizza rolls, green tea mousse pocky, spaghetti-os, and tater tots.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

who wants to come over for dinner?

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

me.

i remember going to the grocery store drunk last summer around 2 pm in the afternoon. with my mother. it was, how do you say, an experience.

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

when they call gin a mother's ruine, they ain't kiddin

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Last time I went in the supermarket on the way home from the pub I brought so much stuff, some of it I didnt even like!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Me and a friend split fifteen beers and a liter and a half of wine on Saturday. I ate absolutely nothing that day. I started making dinner but the empty stomach buzz was so good I abandoned it midway. I decided that it was time for bed after we began a serious discussion on who played Diane Keatons leading man in "Baby Boom", I claimed Tom Selleck he claimed Sam Shepard.

I woke the next morning still drunk and starving so I went to McDonalds for breakfast and ate TWO meals. madness

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

of course i'm out of coffee, which is the one thing desperately needed right now. but did i buy that? OH, NO. overpriced japanese biscuit sticks were much more interesting. forget about dinner, does anyone want to come over right now with coffee? i'll give you all of the pocky in return.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Me + booze x 4 am = SCATTERED SMOTHERED COVERED & DICED MUFUCKAZ

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

don't eat when drunk - you crave the most intolerably shit stuff and it's better not to bother, get some toast when you get home!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

getting drunk while eating is classic, though

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

What about getting eaten while drinking?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

khia to thread

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan OTM.

Eating when drunk is CLASSIC because you can bypass the guilt of eating that pizza, the old "oh, I HAVE to eat this so I won't be all hungover donchaknow."

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

When I am drunk I am not even thinking about the hangover & certainly not thinking if i eat this i wont be hungover. That comes in the morning, although it's usually too late!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

What about getting eaten while drinking?

Pimpadelic.

I remember a pasta dinner one night after some wine that didn't QUITE work when it came back up...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

five years pass...

i woke up with peanut butter on my breath and memories of pizza!

surm, Saturday, 6 June 2009 14:38 (sixteen years ago)

and a gut :|

surm, Saturday, 6 June 2009 14:38 (sixteen years ago)

so classic. I could eat a hundred things right now. Unfortunately it's 3:59 in the morning.

rainy, Saturday, 6 June 2009 15:59 (sixteen years ago)

love drunk snacking on like nuts or crunchy salty shit

rosario speedwagon (nickalicious), Saturday, 6 June 2009 18:18 (sixteen years ago)

also diving into a really messy burger

rosario speedwagon (nickalicious), Saturday, 6 June 2009 18:18 (sixteen years ago)

Played a show last night at a club that gives free meals to bands; ordered mac & cheese, ate like a third of it before we played, and saved the rest of it to drunkenly eat when I got home at 1 a.m., that's what I call planning ahead.

congratulations (n/a), Saturday, 6 June 2009 18:21 (sixteen years ago)

drunken taco time is a treat

♪☺♫☻ (gr8080)(gr8080)♪☺♫☻ (velko), Saturday, 6 June 2009 18:25 (sixteen years ago)

^^^^ real talk

"alt-black" (Pillbox), Sunday, 7 June 2009 03:29 (sixteen years ago)

my friend made a pasta sauce with tomato, onion and garlic but for some reason put so much spices and tabasco that it was like a curry. Punjabi pasta. Twat.

languid samuel l. jackson (jim), Sunday, 7 June 2009 03:30 (sixteen years ago)

50% grape juice, 50% cold water is a sweet treat to sip on.

nicky lo-fi, Sunday, 7 June 2009 03:41 (sixteen years ago)

It depends on how drunk I am, but chowing down on something usually means sleep is right around the corner.

circa1916, Sunday, 7 June 2009 03:55 (sixteen years ago)

If you keep drinking long enough, you're eventually gonna want food. But then you can also drink long enough that you forget about food entirely and it's such a good thing when you remember to eat something because it really helps your body and feels healthy.

Colonel Poo & I were chatting once and he said that he had some motto with friends of his that goes "eating is cheating". I think he was talking about binge drinking.

Crispy Ambulance Douchebag (Bimble), Sunday, 7 June 2009 07:21 (sixteen years ago)

How is it that most of the answers to this are "dud"? Really? if you get hungry when you're drunk food's very exciting and satisfying! (Also, I think a friend of mine, whose eating habits really worry me, consumes a third or half of her calories while drinking because that's the only time she doesn't worry about calories. I definitely encourage her drunk snacks.)

Maria, Monday, 8 June 2009 01:19 (sixteen years ago)

the best part about going to katzs at the end of the night is eating half your sandwich and saving the other half for hangover eats the next morning

It's actually good you've posted here Max -- you and various NYCXors came up in conversation with Rrrobyn today regarding a certain Belgian beer called Kwak and its wooden holders for the glasses.

(Consumed today during drunkenness at FAP -- Belgian fries, buffalo sausages and Hong Kong noodles.)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 June 2009 03:10 (sixteen years ago)

See, I was just going to post about fried noodles being super awesome when drunk. Also Nilla Wafers.

xhuxkfactor (los blue jeans), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:16 (sixteen years ago)

Fried noodles are extremely awesome while drunk. And watching a crowd watch a Lakers game in Little Tokyo is 21st century sociology at work.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 June 2009 03:20 (sixteen years ago)

lol ned

rip dom passantino 3/5/09 never forget (max), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:20 (sixteen years ago)

im glad u guys fared better w/ steempunk beer than i did

rip dom passantino 3/5/09 never forget (max), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:20 (sixteen years ago)

i blame ian

rip dom passantino 3/5/09 never forget (max), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:21 (sixteen years ago)

He merely wished to broaden your beer horizons.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 June 2009 03:22 (sixteen years ago)

the steampunk beer was not my favorite, but i liked the novelty of it

linda emangalitsa (get bent), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:27 (sixteen years ago)

the bbq pork that came with the noodles was A+++ drunk eating = reminded me of the best NYC ghetto takeout chinese

linda emangalitsa (get bent), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:29 (sixteen years ago)

Of course now that I know it is is the steampunk beer we clearly should have been wearing top hats, crushed velvet and pieces of brass. If I had no self-respect whatsoever.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 June 2009 03:30 (sixteen years ago)

Agreed re pork. It was fatty, burnt and salty. Perfect!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 June 2009 03:31 (sixteen years ago)

would not be surprised if that beer has been featured on boing boing

linda emangalitsa (get bent), Monday, 8 June 2009 03:35 (sixteen years ago)
