Minced lamb bound with egg and seasoning in a puff pastry case served with a devil sauce!

Roast beef with horseradish and rocket salad!

give other examples of food which scares you!

At the opposite extreme, the cafe where we eat brunch on Sundays offers "Peace" on the menu. I always want to order it.

scrapple IS scary

and this reminded me of an article in Wired abt 'extreme candy' sample quotes
"...transforms candy from a snack into an extreme sport, a form of commercially acceptable child masochism."

""Everybody in my class likes Warheads. .........Usually we'll have contests to see how many we can put in our mouth without throwing up. I've eaten five in one hour - after that your tongue gets all these sores on it."

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

In Sardinia there is an underground market that deals in casu marzu ("rotten cheese"), cheese to which the producers deliberately add maggots, because they produce an enzyme that gives the cheese a...particular taste and texture.

I like to think of myself as openminded, but this is something I could not bring myself to eat.

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 04:22 (twenty-two years ago)

The "Beef Topping" and "Pork Topping" options at Pizza Hut. *shudder*

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 11:03 (twenty-two years ago)

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

MarkH, do you happen to work in a biomedical research facility, by any chance?

I'm not sure I want to think about cheese perversions.

I don't know. I hear that innocent-looking mild cheddar gets up to all sorts of "fun" when the refrigerator door is closed, if you know what I'm saying. Ho ho ho, etc.
