I forgot to explain that my workplace uses this to block "offensive material". Stoned.com actually serves as a web-based e-mail site. We have a block on those too. My other web-based e-mail site (onegai.net) fell into this category: "adult content". EH???

The only thing I noticed that work filters is translation pages, like AltaVista's Babelfish. Which is really odd and frustrating, as there are a lot of pages I need for research that are in foreign languages.

We have translators blocked too. Supposedly because you can call up translations of porn pages into other languages and back into English, thereby bypassing Porn blocks.

Because of my job as an Internet Analyst I can look at porn all the livelong day if I so choose. It is a testiment to my cleanliness of mind that I instead opt for ILE.

Hacker sites are blocked to me and that's about it - the company obviously enormously overrates my techie skills. And I can't get an FTP connection out which is a bit of a hassle.
