I saw him on Broadway in Speed-The-Plow with Madonna and Joe Mantegna when I was 18, and he was over-the-top but very good. I remember also watching late-night cable TV during that time when I was in NYC, and Al Goldstein held up a copy of his Playbill from the show, and said, "Ron Silver...Great fucking actor.
