getting even better all the time. i am surprised there has not been more speculation about malbranque. do you think he will be a future world superstar?

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

he is now in my team, as is Forsell.

also i am thinking of moving to Upper Holloway and wearing brown more...

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Ahhhhhh, my Trusty Steed. I wish I'd put him in my team again this season.

Fulham did very well indeed to keep him over the summer, I reckon he was the most underrated player in the league last season. Is he usually in the France squad?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Malbranque is now established in the French national squad is he not? he resembles Djorkaeff somewhat - and not just in appearance. France will surely be favourites to win Euro 2004 and i'd be surprised if they didn't and Malbranque was not a key fixture of the team next Summer.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

No-one has mentioned the obv. fact that his first name is Steed = v. strange name = Malbranque sr is a mentalist.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 10:58 (twenty-two years ago)

nope, never capped.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

he doesn't seem half as bonkers as most of his team-mates (was it Boa Morte who got sent off against Birmingham for effectively rugby-tackling that other player when trying to pick the ball up following a goal?)

steedm (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Steeeeeeeeeed! Oh to get back to the cottage to hear it ringing round the stands!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

i've definitely seen Malbranque named in a French squad tho i guess he didn't play so therefore not capped?

steedm (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 11:10 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe that was in the U21 squad?

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

yeh it was the U21s, my mistake - didn't realise he was such a young 'un

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

We've heard that excuse before Steve!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i hear Dave Jones tried to sign him

OUCH!

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

3-0 down to Leicester at half-time. Dave Jones pins up photos of the Wolves players kids on the wall. Then rubs his hands and winks. Four second half goals justify his approach.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Given his forename, I hope he wears a bowler hat and carries an umbrella.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

i only found out that he was called steed the other day
i always thought it was steve

robin (robin), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

my acquisition
of him for Slopshire was late
but proving crucial

Haikunym (Haikunym), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

eight months pass...
so, what of the rumours about a move to spurs? surely he can hold out for a bigger move than this? or is this spurs annual attempt to sign everybody and failing?

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

seems off considering Fulham are actually reasonably well placed right now (on a par with Spurs if not higher), what have they spent the Saha money on?

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

odd not off

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

seven months pass...
back in the saddle...

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
a poor season for him, it has to be said

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 1 May 2005 14:41 (twenty years ago)

Move to the Lane no longer seems so ridiculous. I still believe he is the player we are looking for, mediocre season or not...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 2 May 2005 00:30 (twenty years ago)

yes, i think its just a poor season, his value may have gone down a little too, now?

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 2 May 2005 12:36 (twenty years ago)

seven months pass...
i guess we shall find out, in a few weeks! but,...where is he going?

terry lennox. (gareth), Saturday, 17 December 2005 15:01 (twenty years ago)

three years pass...

I guess this was the peak of Steed's career...
