If you are.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

because I'm not sure if I want to go to university today. As, I will have to sit through the awful video we made last week of mock interviews. I was terrible, really really bad.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I'm waiting for October to end so I can run the November reports. Sigh. Plus, my boss isn't in, and hasn't been all week.

kate (kate), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

cuz I'm nursing a hangover and everything just seems too much of a hassle right now.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Cos I'm on ILX duh.

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a lifestyle choice.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

cos this essay is hard

Bob Shaw (Bob Shaw), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

because i'm a loser

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

And you're not what you appear to be at all? ;-)

kate (kate), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

oh y'know n'all

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I couldn't be arsed doing it yesterday...

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Because it's raining.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I have a tiny amount of work to do, and they're always the hardest to get done.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Because all I have left to do is the tidying up after the event (mostly fiddly finance stuff) and I have nothing to aim for except the end of my contract.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 30 October 2003 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I'm letting my hair dry, which is always a good excuse to take up about an hour's worth of time and devote it to online activities.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 30 October 2003 13:12 (twenty-two years ago)

because my annoying boss ordered me to create an annual report ASAP so we can get it to the printers this week...and then has been in one day this week, so i can't send it out till she checks it.

grr.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 30 October 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

>my boss isn't in, and hasn't been all week

same here. i've had a bunch of stuff to do and i guess i'm going to have to do it all tomorrow. i just can't bring myself to do even the simplest, easiest tasks when i can engage in such, er... stimulating conversation with you lot...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 30 October 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Because my super high death to everything else priority is to proide support for someone who doesn't need my help.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 30 October 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

because i can't shake this chest cold and i cant figure out what to write.

mohammed abba (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 30 October 2003 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I just KNOW that somewhere out there are photographs of Alex James and Andrew Scott in fighter pilot gear, and SOMEONE has got to have posted them on the internet.

kate (kate), Thursday, 30 October 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Have Blur and Sloan made a movie together or something?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 30 October 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I should BE so lucky!!! (Provided it was narrated by Nigel Spivey.)

No, they were unrelated - the Andrew Scott one was from the Chart Magazine with the 4 separate covers, where they all dressed up in various costumes from Canadian military history, i.e. Mountie, Sailor, etc. While the Alex James one was for an article that The Idler did about flying.

kate (kate), Thursday, 30 October 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Because my boss says he's coming in soon which means that he'll either be in a few hours from now and I'll have to work like hell as he sits at his desk, or he'll never come in. Either way, I have to live it up now.

Oh yeah, also because I have to call this lady and get her to sign a bunch of stuff over FAX for me and I think she'll be annoyed.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 30 October 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

seven months pass...
ilx is usually aflutter with activity at this time of morning! cmon, post more so i can justify my complete inability to get up and get dressed right now.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

nothing, for once, except maybe doing some writing work, but where to start from a blank slate, who knows. I don't feel guilty about anything I do today cos I worked the last 5 days.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I don't want to do my filing. Or my reading for tomorrow's class.

Wow. Working AND studying part-time give you double the opportunities for procrastination.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I'm supposed to write 2,000 words today and I don't want to today. Because I'm supposed to walk for half an hour a day and I don't want to today. Because I'm supposed to go out later to a volunteer job and I don't want to. So I'm trying to decide if the drive back down from Leitrim has injured my always bad back, or if I just generally don't feel well and can justify a nap.

Sadly, I don't think so.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

because I have 10,000 boring words about pension plans to translate from Dutch and I stayed up too late last night and wanted to sleep in but the baby woke up crying too loudly so though it was dada's turn to get up with the baby I woke up too and now I'm cranky. waaah.

i wonder if transit of venus can have some effect on moods like mercury in retrograde - feeling disgustingly whingy today.

Maria D., Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

PUNCHING

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Because...because I can't get off the internet?

Crickets Dance On Tequila Booty (Barima), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

LE TIGRE 2 THREAD

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Because my bombast is on hold for the next available alcoholic.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I'm still slightly sick.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm also still slightly sick, but now i must leave. NO EXCUSES d00d!!!1

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

because finishing my animated films for thursday morning is too daunting a task to just fucking get off the fucking internet and do

m. (mitchlnw), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

work.... almost... over....

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

because my job is so fucking boring right now that i would even rather read c-man threads

mookieproof (mookieproof), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

because filling in job applications is so demoralising (which doesn't help cs you're meant to be writing from a frame of mind which 'sells yrself' argh argh). don't apply for jobs, esp. w. big multi-nationals who have fuckoff big and annoying application forms.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I am amazed at my ability to file this week's column, esp. as I was procrastinatin' so hard yesterday.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha, today I have sooo little desire to prepare my presentation for my course, that I am actually WORKING to put off doing it :/ (Well I will be in just 5 more minutes... after I catch up on ILx...)

Archel (Archel), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i am procrastinating today because there is a y in the day...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

why am I procrastinating? Who needs an excuse? I've realised that I'm a born procrastinator, which is not a nice thing to realise when you're in a job that entails thinking about the bigger picture and planning....

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:58 (twenty-one years ago)

meh, surely it's the best job to have in such a situation, isn't there some sort of inverse law about salary to amount of actual work done?

i certainly look forward to senior managership...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 11 June 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

agreed, in my mind, today I am CEO

chris (chris), Friday, 11 June 2004 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I am procrastinating about "going home". Because it's not my home, it's his home and I'm welcome no more, la dee daaah, der doooooh... At the moment I'm really enjoying Hackney (not to mention broadband and cable, even though no one else is up at this time of the day to talk to me) and I don't want to go back to Central London. Maybe I should feed the cat some more. I wonder what time Primark opens, if I can go back and buy some more clothes.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Sunday, 13 June 2004 06:56 (twenty-one years ago)

because it's easier than actually going to look at the internet banking site and SEEING the horrible damage.

donna (donna), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I have friends over to stay/for dinner and I really should start preparing it, they'll be here in an hour, argh Im tired.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:18 (twenty-one years ago)

There! I had breakfast and fed the cat! That's something accomplished this early on a Sunday morning. Now I should shower and pack and get moving, but I seem to be... stuck... to this thing... with internette, perhaps!

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i have two exams next week. yet i spent nay WASTED the day pissing about on the internet. will i ever learn.

gem (trisk), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

EVERYTHING WORTH ANYTHING

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:29 (twenty-one years ago)

meh

gem (trisk), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:31 (twenty-one years ago)

There's too much sport to watch today and for the next few weeks, so I guess all important life altering decisions can wait. Plus, I can't decide whether I should start The Temple of Dawn or Growth of the Soil or Crime and Punishment. Jersey Girl is out next week, I'm excited about that - seriously. Keep meaning to get in touch with a guitar tutor and the bank to get a credit card! Ah!! I must stop putting things of.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:51 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not 10 o'clock. I should maybe take a shower.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean, it's NOW 10 c'clock. Except it won't be for another eight minutes.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:53 (twenty-one years ago)

eleven months pass...
procrastinating.

I don't know the scots law of evidence just yet.

I need to, by tomorrow.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 08:23 (twenty years ago)

four years pass...

searching for hello kitty stickers to stick all over a copy of Das Kapital isnt really a productive use of half an hour is it?

plax (ico), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 21:36 (sixteen years ago)

don't want to pack & ship disco records.
