On the same day as the GirlFAP, as decided on the Glass Bar thread, we, the menfolk of ILX, should meet up in a testerone-drenched London pub somewhere and talk about the Big Manly things we usually talk about at male-dominated FAPs. You know, like Buffy and cookery and girly pop music and stuff.

I'm assuming this will involve some sort of cross-gender meetup towards the end of the night. Any ideas venue-wise?

OK gents, let's get to it here. I'm a relatively new London ILXor, and this idea sounds spiffy, since you seem like such a nice group of folks and the Ned/Tom FAP was crazy and loud and I didn't really get to meet everyone.

What about picking a weekday, so it avoids potential weekend conflicts?

I think the idea that the all-girl FAP _must_ be masculated at some point is at best a bit pathethic. Particularly since this thread started on the other one, and there was no-one there saying "we MUST meet the boys at some point".

i think they pretty much all allow women, at least all the ones i've ever been to. i was dicking around. after all by the law of averages it's not too much of a stretch to surmise that at least a few of male ilx0rs might actually really welcome going to one! but i'll try to drop down for a pint or so in the name of solidarity...

I still think we could co bowling. I didn't even know you Brits had bowling alleys. Do they do those crazy 'midnight madness' nights with black lights and music and stuff? Wicked.

But hey, gay bar is cool too. I've only been to gay bars in Toronto and they tended to have better music than regular clubs. Although sometimes I feel that as a straight guy I'm taking the piss by being there. Or maybe the 'regulars' don't give a shit and I'm being overly sensitive... Plus I admit I find it flattering when I get hit on (that sounds lame I know).

I do like the idea of a big meet-up at the end. I know it must be daunting to women who haven't been to a lot of FAPs, because going to *any* FAP is fairly daunting to start with.

I just really like the idea of an all-girl one where we get to talk to each other for a change, because I've been to lots of FAPs were we didn't, and I'm quite sick of people talking about "Oh all FAPs are all male affairs" when I was at the FAP in question!

I'm reviving this because the women are meeting in the afternoon in the Foundry tomorrow, Saturday, and we are apparently welcome for the evening - 6pm seems acceptable so I'll aim at that. According to Suzy, the Foundry is at the "corner of Old Street and Great Eastern Street, London EC2. Tube to Old Street. Walk east on Old Street and you can't miss it," and I'm sure she knows what she is talking about.
