Well?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Kelly Jones' voice.
My headache.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

-Not having anything to do (besides post to ILX)
-The postal strike (meaning I don't have my timesheet)
-People reviving topics that remind me of things I'd rather forget

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I am a bundle of nerves today.

My email has come out in sympathy with the postal workers too :(

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

a lot of things judging by my current mood, but most of all right now = heartburn (possibly stress induced), useless suppliers, typical problems that only ever turn up on a friday when you want to leave early, idiots in general.

chris (chris), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

-Browsing through ILX when I should be revising stuff for exams
-Being broke
-The days getting shorter

At least it's a Friday

Michael B, Friday, 31 October 2003 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

The woman in my orrifce who is mean and nasty and tells tales and is acting like she's my best mate today.

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Just about everything, unfortunately.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

the fact i probably can't go to new york until Spring

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

what, you mean around April?

chris (chris), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

yeh round that time i think. unless i throw caution to the dogs and pop over in 3 weeks but that's pure mentalism even i couldn't get away with.

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Crossing my legs under my desk and wearing pointy boots has given me pins and needles in my big toe.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

The fact that I just had to clean the microwave at work before i could use it. It was like meat fat (like you get on a grill) all over it. Eurgh!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Steve, that may not be such a bad thing then eh?

chris (chris), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

The thought of doing all my tasks and clearing my desk so I can hand everything back to the girl returning from hols next week.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i know chris! i guess nothing much is annoying me right now and i can't handle it

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Getting on my nerves? Today? The fact that the office has had a Halloween dressing up contest and is populated by werewolves, witches and warlocks (to represent hell on floor 2) and nuns, saints and monks (to represent heaven on floor 3).

I'm also annoyed that I'm having to wait until 4pm to VNC someone before our monthly results can be produced.

The office appears to have gone mad today, and I'm not particularly happy about it. I think I'm a bit of a humbug today and I can't be bothered to be apologetic about it.

Rob M (Rob M), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you dressed up as a misery guts today Rob? ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Warlocks get a bad press.

Are there lots of smug people dressed as Greek philosphers and playwrights etc. to represent the virtuous heathens in purgatory?

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm normally dressed as a misery guts anyway. I think purgatory must be the stairs between the two floors, or the lift if you're just passing through.

Rob M (Rob M), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

The next person to annoy me today is going to get chinned, and there seem to be a whole host of people queueing up to be the lucky punter

chris (chris), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

*steps to the side*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

relax chris, think of Justyn Dillingham making the spare...

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh God, I've just been volunteered for a pumpkin carving competition. Has anyone got some fake jollity pills?

Rob M (Rob M), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Nothing, particularly, today. But yesterday...

*My birthday and becoming an old fart (35).
*The fact that Birmingham is still a complete madhouse a full month after the Bullring opening, and that everyone was on crack and determined to walk straight into me.

ChrissieH (chrissie1068), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

if you smile on the outside rob, you'll start smiling on the inside!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

My eyes and head and neck hurting because I haven't had any coffee yet. That's pretty easy to fix though.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 31 October 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm, I think I'll try smiling then. I'll let you know how the carving goes - it's supposed to be like the chap from "Hellraiser" so will either be superb, or will explode in an orangey mess. I'm hoping it's going to be superb, so we win a prize.

Well, I feel better already.

Rob M (Rob M), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I used 'time portal' in a meeting this morning and then had to explain to non-plussed looks that I was referring to a window in my schedule.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

My sinuses.

earlnash, Friday, 31 October 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i had a dream abt someone i used to be in love with, and they were STILL MEAN TO ME EVEN IN A DREAM SIX YEARS LATER (plus they were in sexy black-and-white dress and bright red kneeboots blimey!!), and then i woke up and it wz only 7.30 and i couldn't get back to sleep and now i have a headache :(

>:(

>>|:(

mark s (mark s), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

plus they were in sexy black-and-white dress and bright red kneeboots blimey!!

Sounds like you're under the influence of the fall fashion thread!

I'm annoyed by having to go to the doctor yet again this week for more tests, I'm starting to feel like some sort of lab experiment.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

The signing of Brian Deane hasn't exactly filled me with elation.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sick of the postal strike, so so so so sick of it.

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

My shoes are getting on my nerves. They are full of HOLES. Also the mentalist Japanese student who was screaming and throwing things at me yesterday (don't ask) is back in.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

All of a sudden, all sorts of things seem to be getting on my nerves. I wonder what was IN that gingerbread latte...

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

and now I realise that the duffer sample sale is in the middle of sodding shoreditch. I'm going to have to buy a serious amount of records to get me out of this funk

chris (chris), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate - Something that makes you mean and irritable when you don't get your fix? That'll be caffeine then....

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

"It's Friday lunchtime and Mikey G is rolling, chicks getting naked, lining up for a poleing"

My inability to write decent rap annoys me.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Poleing? How sweet...

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

No, Smee - actually I've been irritable *since* I had my coffee fix!

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Ohmygod, they've reversed caffeine!

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

*ducks*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

'Mikey G's getting funky and the lady is crying'
"I've got a boyfriend!"
'*Hoe, you're lying'

(*note, non-agricultural use of hoe)

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

You know, if any really bad evil overlord James Bond villian scientist REALLY wanted to destroy the world, all he would really have to do is find a way to reverse the effects of caffeine...

(I think it's actually the sugar and the whipped cream which is making me hyper, though.)

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Shhhhhh Kate!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Reversing the effects of oxygen would be some mischief

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Pretty much nothing. It's because I'm unemployed.

Mandee (Jerrynipper), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The woman in my orrifce who is mean and nasty... There's a woman in your orrifice, smee?!

Ha, sorry, I'm probably the one getting on your nerves now.

My sister was getting on my nerves last night. Can that count? I love her and she's had lots of personal problems. I really want her to get better. But also, it's hard for me to be supportive when she calls me after 10pm and just goes on and on and on and doesn't let me talk. When I start to say something, she talks faster and louder to cram me out. Basically, she dumps on me and doesn't even really give me a chance to try to cheer her up. :(

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

"I've eaten two rolls and a packet of discos,
cruising round Romford like it's San Francisco"

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

You know Sarah, I noticed that after I posted and I expected the likes of Dan to show up and say something....

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I was gonna say actually, but i thought i'd leave it to someone else!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Suuuure you did....

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Flight fear. brrrr.
Oh, and everyone asking me why I'm wearing cat ears. (It's Halloween.) And then asking why cat ears. (duh.)

Catty (Catty), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to have some fairy ears in my last job.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Im on day #5 of not smoking. So, everything is getting on my nerves...to include people, waking up, Halloween, and the motion sensor over my right shoulder that clicks every time i scratch my ass.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

WORK (what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!)

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Too true!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Let me do your work! Honestly! I am so bored! I cannot believe that I am actually getting paid to sit around and post to ILE, because I have done NOTHING ELSE ALL DAY. OK, I filled out my timesheet. That's it. Why am I here?

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got loads of work, you can help me!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Me too!

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish there were a way that we could do this because I have an hour and a half left and I am going nuts!

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm workin hard me

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate I'll email you a review and you can comment on all the confidential personal problems staff at company X have, m'kay?

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I know this comes as a huge surprise but my boss is getting on my nerves. He calls like every 15 minutes for an update on all the files. "What's going on NOW?"

If he cares so much, why doesn't he just come in to the office? (uh, not that I really want him to...)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:28 (twenty-two years ago)

"Oooh, have you seen XXXXXX's costume yet? It's hilarious!"

also...

"What did you bring to the potluck?"
"Nothing, I have to leave early today, remember?"
"Why?"

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO HAVE THIS EXACT SAME CONVERSATION TODAY?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Errrr, Smee... can you just send me work which is maths or accounting or computer programming related? I can do Excel spreadsheets like a dream, but I'm a bit rubbish at staff reviews!

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Let me do your work! Honestly! I am so bored!

No no no, I want to GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't remember the last time I slept late. I mean RRRREALLY late. FEK!

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

i really like this idea of everyone doing someone else's work for a day - we should totally do that. maybe some of us can even go into each other's workplaces instead of the other.

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate - the bits I do are kinda maths and involve spreadsheets. Spreadsheets of peoples problems, when they had them and how long they lasted - I kid you not, my new job is a joy!

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

my own inability and inaction

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Smee, that's suspiciously like my job! Except my spreadsheets are all about what people used what interpreters for what hospital appointments! (And the complaints that they make.)

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh my eyes and head still hurt, it must be allergies and not caffeine deprivation. This sucks.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

You're welcome to my spreadsheets Kate!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Send An Interweb Mentalist To Work Day.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Have you seen that advert with the guy who's scared of flying and then the little girl gets on the plane intercom and says "Hi, I'll be your pilot for today..." but turns out it's Bring Your Child To Work day and she's the pilot's daugher...?

It'd be like that, except I'd mess up everyone's spreadsheets with crazy macros! Hah!

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

You'll all be pleased to know that my team came second in the 'pumpkin carving' competition, so I'm a bit happier now. And I've VNCed the person I was missing at 4pm, and she was laughably rubbish, which has also made me happier.

Rob M (Rob M), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

The web filter is really getting on my nerves right now. I know that the last 45 minutes of the day would pass more quickly if I could look at pornographic sites!

kate (kate), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

My ample boosom is getting on my nerves today - it's a while since I wore this shirt and methinks I haff expanded somewhat since the last time coz my breasts keep making a bid for freedom, the middle button is straining........

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

OHMYGOD! I was gonna post that my boobs were getting on my nerves today!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Posts about boobies! *all excited and prowling round office like a tomcat*

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, my huge cock is really getting on my nerves.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

*sniggers & points at Nick* you said huge!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

This sucks, my head feels like a cottonball and my hands feel all shaky and my eyes feel crusty. Maybe I'm actually getting sick and these aren't allergies. Urgh. That would suck. Why do I always get sick on weekends?

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

One of the secretaries in my office has a tiny skirt on today. Face like a sea lion, mind.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Or maybe I feel weird because I've only consumed two cups of coffee and lots of candycorn this morning.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

sea lions are cute!

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

What a mental image, Mikey G!

Um, I'm still just annoyed by my boss. My breasts are, uh, doing just fine today.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Glad to hear it Sarah...

Mikey - Does she clap a lot? Throw a fish and see if she catches it in her mouth....

smee (smee), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, makes that 'unk unk' noise too. Her boyfriend just lazes around on a rock all day.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:47 (twenty-two years ago)

music publishing/mechanicals/sync/broadcasting/public-performance is super-confusing and its getting on my nerves.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Thankfully I just got a lot of work stuff OFF my nerves today. Frank conversation has helped.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

There's some couple having an argument outside and the sound of this guy's voice + his accent ("DAYAMMEET YOO STOOPID BEEITCH AH SAYUD AH'M SARREE!") coupled with the fact that he's mad at her for throwing him out when she came home to find him fucking her best friend, on top of the fact that they're having this kind of conversation VERY LOUDLY in a VERY public place = the PROVERBIAL ha ha nails on chalkboard.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Tesco's have pinot noir cava for £4.49. Half price! I'm having it for tea.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

NOTHING'S getting on my nerves today. best morning of my life.

world eat my shorts (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Cool!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

The postal strike getting in the way of me finding a job.

Ed (dali), Friday, 31 October 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I also am strangely not annoyed today. *knock on wood*

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Friday, 31 October 2003 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Sam is annoying me!

Wood (coco), Friday, 31 October 2003 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

at first I was going to say :( and then I read the sign off and laughed. :)

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Friday, 31 October 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)
