I want to start drinking fruit teas. I am drinking cranberry & raspberry at the moment, but it just doesn't seem to taste enough. What do you drink?

Decaf tea is the usual beverage of choice.

i have been gravitating toward the black teas more recently... graduating from chai to hong kong style lai cha. extra strong and i'm doing good.

fruit tea smells absolutely fantastic, but never manages to pull it off and tastes disgusting - not strong enough, and is nowehere near as sweet as it smells.

"Freak Tea" aka Honey & Chamomille is the only one that really gets drunk in my home. I tried getting some ginger, but I associate it with upset stomach, so I only ever drink it when I have an upset stomach.

I prefer green teas to fruit tea. A colleague brought back some Vanilla tea from her travels - normal black tea, but with vanilla in it, and it was gorgeous! but I am such a sucker for vanilla.

HSA's mum puts sticks of vanilla in with her sugar. This makes everything you put the sugar in taste extra specially nice!

adding honey changes it completely cos it smells of honey then.

We've got some vanilla sugar at home, Chris got very enthusiastic about home made custard, and the vanilla pods are very reusuable, so tehy get stuck in the pot when they've dried out. I haven't used any yet though, must put that right this weekend, thanks for reminding me!

I think i'll need to try the lemon ones as I agree with Vicky in that they always smell nicer than they taste.

mmmmm vanilla custard

Does green tea taste flowery like say earl grey?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 31 October 2003 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

no really, not as perfumey/in your face, anyway.

It does start to get a bit rank if the leaves aer in there for too long and it gets too strong, but generally it's fine. The only thing I forget is that because it doesn't have milk in it takes much longer than a bog-standard cup of tea to get to my prefered drinking temperature

I'm a big fan of Rooibos if I want decaffeinated tea. But aside from that I am unashamedly rockist in plumping for a good strong cup of Breakfast Blend.

Maple sugar in black tea, if you please.

antexit (antexit), Friday, 31 October 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

the only fruit tea that i like is twining's black currant. otherwise, i favor green darjeeling, assam, or barley tea.
