You know, that one with the little tuft standing up at the front? Even the 45 year olds that still have hair are wearing it now. Just put the styling gel down and step away from the mirror.

I'm not sure if this is a reaction to watching identically coiffed passersby in the library, or the faint reflection of my receding hairline on my laptop.

Hunter (Hunter), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:11 (twenty-two years ago)

receding hairlines are so hot. bask in the glory of your exposed forehead, hunter!

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:15 (twenty-two years ago)

hot? who knew?!

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:16 (twenty-two years ago)

are you kidding? the receding hairline is the '00s equivalent of the '80s giant permed man hair. pure animal magnetism.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:23 (twenty-two years ago)

i fear she is mocking us, jim

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:24 (twenty-two years ago)

no i recently heard a few friends of mine cooing over a balding man. i'm 25 and going gray already, tho that's probably just from tapwater or something

typo acapulco (gcannon), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:26 (twenty-two years ago)

did they say anything about paunches or comically oversized grins?

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:27 (twenty-two years ago)

nothing's right i'm torn

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:28 (twenty-two years ago)

well one girl had the former and the other the latter, but no. surely you're not ashamed of your perfect teeth are you?

typo acapulco (gcannon), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:31 (twenty-two years ago)

i can break clams with them

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:32 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:33 (twenty-two years ago)

swoon

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:34 (twenty-two years ago)

i was being serious. really. receders are attractive.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:43 (twenty-two years ago)

how do you feel about paunches? and comically oversized grins?

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:43 (twenty-two years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I never really thought of us as an identity group-- "receders." Right on. How about the fact that I have a skull shaped like a coconut? Is there such a thing as cranioplasty? There _must_ be.

And if anyone says "coconut-headers are attractive"-- YOU LYIN!

Hunter (Hunter), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:49 (twenty-two years ago)

WTF kinda of photo is that? "What we really need for this photo shoot is you holding a corned beef sammy"

oops (Oops), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:51 (twenty-two years ago)

'she drives me crazy' is being used in a new british pork products advertising campaign.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 6 November 2003 01:51 (twenty-two years ago)

i especially think that receders who have very short beards and glasses are attractive. but not exclusively.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 6 November 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, I have neither beard nor glasses, but I'm one of ILX's top receders. Not that I have measured my hairline against, say, Tim H or Mark C...

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 6 November 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I think once you get to my level you can't really call it "receding" any more. My follicular soldiers have returned from Dunkirk, enjoyed a lengthy period of R&R, re-equipped and invaded large areas of my torso.

(but, chix0rs seem to either dig or not-have-problems-with both receding hair and paunches. Bless 'em)

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 6 November 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

is this about the Tintin coif?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 6 November 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

it probably helps that you (and jess too) have pretty faces

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 7 November 2003 02:46 (twenty-two years ago)
