I am the only person watching this?

Highlights so far:
Missy Elliot doing the highland fling in front of a huge forest of cannabis plants.

Chad looking WAY cuter than Pharrell. And he spoke!

I have decided that I love Christina Aguilieraiajgkthingycantspell.

Usual crapness:

I don't know what happened with Beyonce and Sean Paul's performance thingy but it seemed like the tape stuck or something and they were left shuffling around and looking awkward (maybe that was the plan!)

One of Kylie's dancers had this glow-in-the-dark light sabre thing that kept cutting out. I felt sorry for him.

Wow, justin seems to have let himself go.

Also, it's being held near where I live so I'm imagining that if I stick my head out of the window, I might be able to hear the faint echo of singing, and the radioactive glow from all the perma-tanned celebrities together in one place. But I'm not going to try.

She just keeps getting more genius.

Chad looking WAY cuter than Pharrell. And he spoke

Heh heh heh. The world is finally realizing.

Wow, justin seems to have let himself go.

Karma Evil triumphs again in its three piece suit, and is looking fabulous.

blimey travis are playing an anti-war song, and are surrounded by naked people holding placards. You'll be glad to hear that travis themselves have remained fully clothed. Although Fran is always wearing that stupid hat, perhaps he is going bald and is attempting to distract from this with the nakedness.

Fran bald, all over? I just shuddered with fright.

Travis have to be kicking themselves, they almost had the suck-rock key to the kingdom in terms of American success and then they got trumped by COLDPLAY. Jesus H., how fucked can you be?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 6 November 2003 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

The weird thing about Coldplay is that I can't name any other member of the band, or even picture them in my head. I mean I can even name the bassist in Travis and I don't know if Coldplay even have a bassist. Maybe they are actually shape-shifting aliens that some other planet really didn't want.

Love Coldplay's music, but tis obvious that the devil is snacking on their entrails: WHY are they winning everything in sight?

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 6 November 2003 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Chad has always been WAY WAY cuter than Pharrel.

I was walking down princes st. in Edinburgh last night. In the gardens on said road there was a big MTV gig thingy for which you could have queued up for tickets if you were so inclined. I was expecting the town centre to be full of people watching the gig from the street, like they do at the fireworks display we have at the end of the festival or on Hogmanay. However, the nice folks at MTV had decided to erect a big fucking fence so that you could only see the gig if you were in the gardens. I heard lated on that they wanted to *completely* shut down the town centre, princes st. and george st. but decided to settle for just annexing our gardens for an evening.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Friday, 7 November 2003 13:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Like a cake in a greengrocers.

I was waiting for Justin to say "it's great to be here in Scotland Ireland".

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 7 November 2003 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Jean Paul Gaultier's fashion commentary was bizarre and great. "Puff Dad-dee, Pee-di-dee, whatever you call yourself, you're too much Puff and not enough Dad-deee!"

Justin kept saying in the interview segment, "I'm very gracious for this award." instead of grateful. It was weird.
