The Piano, what a lot of cobblers.

The movie "the Piano" was a load of boring crap. I know it was a few years ago but I was thinking about it today and have decided that it was shite. Anyone else think that a lot of these supposedly High brow movies are a crock. I'd rather sit through "Dude, where's my car" anyday.

I like both "The Piano" and "Dude, Where's My Car!". I wish they could be combined into some high-brow/low-brow all conquering behemoth.

I really enjoyed it (the Piano, haven't seen DWMC!), but I suppose it's not really a 'bloke's' film. I really enjoyed the soundtrack, and was very surprised to hear it on the tv the other day, accompanying a Lloyds TSB ad.

I'm a 'bloke' and I thought The Piano was a great, original movie with a real mythical feel to it. My brother's comment, however, was that it was 'a feminist's wet dream'. I thought the two previous films Campion did were really good too (Sweetie, Angel At My Table) but she seems to have gone off the boil since. That movie she made with Kate Winslett (name escapes me) was truly bad, and advance reports on 'In The Cut' are not good. She may have had her day.

I have no idea how she managed to uglify the Kaukapapa coast so badly, that's some kind of achievement I suppose

Dude Where's My Piano

Ashton Kutcher plays Biff Ivorykey, a young Amerijock whose parents arrange a marriage for him when he crashes his fathers car on prom night. He finds himself isolated in Austrailia (or somewhere) without the use of his beloved piano, however he quickly develops a wisecracking buddy relationship with local man Eddie Murphy, who trades him piano keys for sex in a deadly game of lust and betrayal. Meanwhile, Biff's mom is exceptionally hot!

Actually, I thought The Piano was great. I normally can't stand Sam Neill (bland), but even he was top-notch here.

The trilly New Age music that Holly Hunter's character insists she must play is the best argument for chopping off her hands.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle was better than The Pianist.
