i like the crests that have a bit of design to them, but does anybody else get a "1985 Trapper Keeper" vibe from the Dunfermline Athletic one?

http://www.socceraction.com/scotland_dunfer.gif

The Falkirk one is kinda neat. It's like if Starfleet had their own league.

Jay Dee Sah Mon (Kingfish), Friday, 7 November 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 7 November 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

And that, my friends, is that.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 7 November 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Hardest to find - Queens Park (due to QPR pictures dominating)

Least useful club site - Greenock Morton

Least explicably popular search term - "Partick Thistle"

Oddest unrelated pictures - Queen Of The South

Favourite picture unearthed - St Mirren:

That presumably being one of the side walls of their ground. That whole site has some bloody good photos on it anyway, well worth perusing.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 7 November 2003 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

The site in question being Homes Of Football. Not St Mirren's official site, which is an official club site, and as such just a touch shit.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 7 November 2003 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Also - ICT's logo isn't meant to be all black. It was just the largest picture of it that I could find.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 7 November 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

dear jeremy, was v. bored.

just another two horse race

c7n (Cozen), Friday, 28 October 2005 08:39 (twenty years ago)

Great thread. It's a shame so many of the images aren't there any more.

I love club crests, I have fond recollections of completing the Pannini 1978 album which IIRC was the last one to have the vinyl club crest stickers before they switched to shiny metallic ones.

It's a pity that many of the images are gone, but there's some good stuff here, here, here, here, here, and here. I particularly enjoyed the 'lest we forget' badges for Third Lanark, Airdrieonians and the like.

I think you'll agree that this one takes the prize, though

Ismael Klata, Friday, 7 September 2007 15:40 (eighteen years ago)

I like the Aberdeen one the best. I admire its simplicity. the font used on it is interesting

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 7 September 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)

Holy shit on that Fartprick Pisshole badge!

pfunkboy, Friday, 7 September 2007 15:50 (eighteen years ago)

(That should've been on the Motherwell badge, eh? ;) )

pfunkboy, Friday, 7 September 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)

Glasgow Celtic are called Celtic
Glasgow Rangers are called Rangers

*pedantic Scottish football fan*

Efraqueen Juárez (jim in glasgow), Friday, 24 September 2010 09:45 (fifteen years ago)

Hahaha just read the thread, doh.

Efraqueen Juárez (jim in glasgow), Friday, 24 September 2010 09:46 (fifteen years ago)

I think Celtic do use Glasgow Celtic somewhere though, or did at some point

Tom A. (Tom B.) (Tom C.) (Tom D.), Friday, 24 September 2010 09:47 (fifteen years ago)

I think Celtic do use Glasgow Celtic somewhere though, or did at some point

It gets used in songs but I don't think it's anywhere on official merchandise, stationery, reports, etc.

I used to have a badge with the crest on it c.1978 that said "The Celtic Football and Athletic Coy. Ltd."

meta the devil you know (onimo), Friday, 24 September 2010 09:52 (fifteen years ago)

I used to have a cup that said that on it! Maybe I imagined the Glasgow Celtic thing. Is it my imagination or did Tommy Burns used to say Glasgow Celtic all the time?

Tom A. (Tom B.) (Tom C.) (Tom D.), Friday, 24 September 2010 09:55 (fifteen years ago)

They used to have "The Celtic Football and Athletic Company" on their crests when I was a lass and faithfully drawing club crests on my jotters at school. Don't remember Glasgow ever being anywhere.

haha, multiple xposts when I was off doing some work before hitting submit

ailsa, Friday, 24 September 2010 10:00 (fifteen years ago)

Tommy Burns (or at least Jonathan Watson doing an imitation of him) said sellicfooballclub

ailsa, Friday, 24 September 2010 10:01 (fifteen years ago)

Right!

Clyde (Scots 1st Division, 4th)

Pouring one out, you guys. I was at the game when they could have gone up to the SPL instead of Caley Thistle. Then Billy Reid jumped ship and now they're at the wrong end of the 3rd :-(

ailsa, Friday, 24 September 2010 10:02 (fifteen years ago)
