Nobody's Ever Going To Impregnate Me!!!! ...are they??

I need to know
I don't want kids; I do know I'd be such a terrible parent. However this hasn't stopped other people [guiltless fiends!] reproducing.
Will I give in to the biological urge? I do wonder if it really is built in, seeing as it is really our only truly useful function/purpose [though that's another debate eh].
They say bitches always need to have a litter or else they remain unsettled and odd for the rest of their lives. IS THAT ME??

Recent ICQ conversation:

penelope: hoh, nobody's EVER going to impregnate ME
penelope: EVER EVER EVER
penelope: never ever
r: you will change your mind. When I was your age I had no intention of ever having children. When you see all yoour friends settling down, suddenly kiddies seem like a lovely idea.
penelope: no!
penelope: settling down = giving up!
r: we all have to give up some day
r: sigh
penelope: no!
r: having children = productive, wonderful, warm, nurturing.
penelope: NO!
penelope: having children = chopping one's hands off and blindly stumping them about trying to do what one used to do [i.e. have fun]
penelope: or something

is my friend correct??? he IS 8 years older than me..

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

so YOU don't want kids and this hasn't stopped YOUR FRIENDS from having them?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I JUST IMPREGNATED YOU RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allyzay, Friday, 7 November 2003 18:35 (twenty-one years ago)

wah

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Is your friend R. Kelly?

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I got told this eight years ago too; some of my friends are working on their third kid. I still have no intention of having one.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

teeny! MWAH!
that is helpful.

I sort of wish my friend was R Kelly.

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

[that would make this thread more interesting, see]

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

you can't get impregnated from R. Kelly peeing on you

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

having kids != "settling down"

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I do wonder if it really is built in, seeing as it is really our only truly useful function/purpose [though that's another debate eh].

Yeah, you could say it's "debatable ." *smacks you so hard upside the head your eyes go cross*

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm 28 fwiw.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Eugene Chadbourne toured with his kid.

Jay Dee Sah Mon (Kingfish), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

but how much pussy did he get? huh?

teeny (teeny), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

tenny JOTO

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

teeny! oh my god!

When I saw Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers they had like a half-dozen little Marleys running around ON STAGE.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

They say bitches always need to have a litter or else they remain unsettled and odd for the rest of their lives.

I'm amazed at the lunacy of this idea.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

but seriously! female cats, too! I don't mean "bitches" as in er humans..

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

As for the purpose thing, that's me being all woebegone and bitter.

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

PS: ow?

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

are you kidding, teeny?! everybody knows that the men of Shockabilly were famous for shackin' up and chowin' down up & down the eastern seaboard.

god, the number of puns in this post alone is enough to even make ME ashamed.

Jay Dee Sah Mon (Kingfish), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I only slapped you because you were being all hysterical.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

And, um, you're neither a dog nor a cat.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Now she's in pain! And she's still hysterical!

Allyzay, Friday, 7 November 2003 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

ah right.
yeah that's wise.

and that also is true.

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

b-but.. think how many people give in

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Lots of women *want* to be mothers. They don't necessarily "give in" to the idea.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

oh lordy.
but do they want to because it's in-built?
the phrase 'broodiness' worries me.

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

You ain't got to be a woman to be a mutha anyhow!

Huckleberry Mutha (Horace Mann), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

And the "maternal instinct" actually has a lot to do with social conditioning.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I have more maternal instincts than a lot of women-with-kids I know.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure if I should be pround of that, now that I think 'bout it.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I agree with the social conditioning thing.
the way people can feel Wrong if they're 35 and not married with kids.

[am not planning to get married either fwiw]

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Nickalicious, it's awesome that you have maternal instincts. It'll rub off on your son.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I've always held a strong belief that for me, motherhood is a vocation. If I'm called, I'm called. If I'm not, I'm not.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I think it's a very common and very patronizing thing to say "oh, it's just a phase, everyone wants kids eventually." Check out some of the child-free websites.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:08 (twenty-one years ago)

What if you maybe (maybe) do want kids, but not YET, but your body is betraying your mind wrt biological limits so there's this semi-tangible deadline in the not so distant future? Dilemma.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Have a couple. If you don't like them, send them to live with relatives.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

or to the workhouses. they'll EARN their keep, i tell you!

Jay Dee Sah Mon (Kingfish), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

If you don't like them, send them to live with relatives

To deserve this, they'd have to be the spawn of the devil himself.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Kim in Rosemary's Baby II: This Time It's Personal

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

You might be in luck; I hear The Devil is a big slut.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Hope the family's got the room then.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Sell them to yuppies as housepets.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

But like pot-bellied pigs, they grow and become a nuisance.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

But you can then train them to do manual labor.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd rather have a pot-bellied pig!!!!

oh wow

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Unfortunately, no kid of mine will ever be 'trainable'. This I know.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I will name all of my children Minion.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Legion.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:33 (twenty-one years ago)

but see, there you go.. presuming you'll have kids!
if not, buy pot-bellied pigs and call them Minion. they'll make less mess I bet

and sulk less when [if] they reach 15

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I really do want a pot-bellied pig now though!!
snnfrfsnrffnh.squee!

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I think giving birth to a pot-bellied pig would be far more traumatic than giving birth to a child!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

But young goats are called kids right? That could happen.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I impregnate you with mayonnaise.

nayo (nickalicious), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

well you don't have to do it so shaddarp.
though I think allowing a sow to pop one out might be much better..

haha kids [goat-wise] are called "killing" in swedish

does not bode well, think not.

penelope (penelope), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

My slutty boyfriend Satan will not approve of your attitude.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

"man-naise", more like it AM I RITE

Jay Dee Sah Mon (Kingfish), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Just get the hysterectomy and make it 100% sure.

Girolamo Savonarola, Friday, 7 November 2003 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

There ain't nothing to gettin impregnated if that's all your looking for. . .

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 8 November 2003 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

This I know, this I fear..

penelope (penelope), Saturday, 8 November 2003 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Not with that tone of voice you won't, there, little missy!

Skottie, Saturday, 8 November 2003 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

BRAWL

penelope (penelope), Saturday, 8 November 2003 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

If you ask nicely...

Skottie, Saturday, 8 November 2003 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

NOW!

penelope (penelope), Saturday, 8 November 2003 13:40 (twenty-one years ago)
