What an ungodly brave young woman. Bless her heart. Oh, and die U.S. government, die. How fucking disgraceful can it get?!

I really wonder how uncensored the autobio will be, though

Vic (Vic), Saturday, 8 November 2003 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

terrible but of course (depressingly) not shocking.

Okay, so just for amusement purposes I decided to see how this story is playing out on the America Online message boards, a decidedly unintellectual forum...

They absolutely hate Jessica there now!! And it's funny because eveyone was defending her against "liberal scum" as of yesterday...now they want to burn her alive!!! "They should have left that ungrateful bitch there," etc

Vic (Vic), Saturday, 8 November 2003 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Seriously, Vic?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 8 November 2003 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I second what Vic says. She's getting positively eviscerated over at the yucky-poo-poo freerepublic forums.

This was never about Jessica Lynch the person, it was about a fictionalized soldier that she happened to stand in for - this soldier goes down fighting to the end, this soldier is treated badly, this soldier must be brought home, etc. For her to claim otherwise questions the behavior of all the other soldiers out there that she stands in for. This is about the TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER, people!! It's as if Jessica stood up and said "oh I know who that is; he pulled the pin of his grenade by accident"
