Is there need for a law covering 'incitement to religious hatred'? Or any legislation of that sort?

Before they make it illegal, let's blaspheme everybody! Catholicism = bullshit mysticism and rituals for gullible masochists, Protestants = expediency disguised as assumed superiority, Islam = stone-age barbaric slavery, Buddhism = passive, hypocritical futility, Judaism = wall of intellectual waffle built around insular paranoids, paganism = dating club for mentally ill, agnosticism = protestantism for smart people who aren't as smart as they think they are, atheism = excuse for selfishness and cruelty, Shinto = cheap copy of imported ideas, voodoo = tourist trap, etc.

To protect the right to worship as people see fit and the property they do so, yes.

To prevent people from attacking the religion on moral or ethical grounds, no.
