Find Saddam or Osama dead pool

Where the hell are these guys? Are they with Cheney in his bunker? Are they in a bar lamenting the loss of the Concorde? Are they in a secret lair on a volcano/island? Are they on the international space station? Are they at the Mall of America? Are they together in a hotel room in Malaysia watching Bravo?

I have to think we're gonna catch these guys. When?

Hunter (Hunter), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Saddam: 12/17
Osama: 3/15

Hunter (Hunter), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

They don't have to be dead, that's not what I meant.

Hunter (Hunter), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I got 5 on Usama turning up next summer, and 10 on Saddam re-emerging whenever Jeb Bush gets around to running for Pres.

I have to think we're gonna catch these guys. When?

I doubt that the U.S. will ever catch either of them.

Nicolars (Nicole), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think the gov't would ever want or need them caught, really.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

We're still working on the Reagan death pool for crying out loud!

donut bitch (donut), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 20:40 (twenty-two years ago)

there's more chance of Dubya winning a second term than either of these guys being caught EVER

stupid world

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 10:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Saddam is the more likely of the two to turn up in the near future, and while I'd hope he'd be shipped off to the Hague to be tried, I suspect Bush has his own ideas on that one.

Does it really matter if Bin Laden is dead, alive or caught by this point? I mean, he's taken on a quasi-mythical status amongst Al Qaeda sympathisers and opponents alike, and the terrorists can function perfectly well without him. In fact, I have a feeling that a captured Osama being paraded round by the Americans could well make things worse.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

There is nothing to say that the americans haven't quietly disposed of Osama because any kind of public death/capture/trial would make him a martyr.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

That's not exactly consistent with their behaviour, though, is it?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

They are not so dumb as to make the biggest martyr of them all. They stand a better change of 'winning' in the long term if Osama just disappears.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Saddam be shopping!

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Osama Bin Shopping.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Osama has been dead for almost a year now.

Saddam's days are similarly numbered

But America will continue to experience turmoil until 2007, regardless

Vic (Vic), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

This has been said before, but bears repeating: One or both will turn up alive and in irons about a week before the 2004 election.

Nostradamus (Methuselah), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)
