i can't remember them. they must have been great!

atomic horseradish (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned was born during them, therefore DUD.

Antmusic78 (Antmusic78), Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:16 (twenty-one years ago)

God, the 1990s were the most unsafe and "interesting" in the Chinese sense of the word for me of my life. Excessive drinking, depression, medication for said depression, abusive alcoholic boyfriend, messy breakups, moving to another state, changing careers completely and discovering the innernet.

How the fsck could I possibly call that safe and boring!?

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:17 (twenty-one years ago)

"The Chinese sense"?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:18 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, the Chinese curse sense: "May you live in interesting times".

Dan I., Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Or, alternately, being able to tell there's a Chinese person in the room with your eyes closed.

Dan I., Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, wot Dan said. Well er, the first bit anyhoo.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 November 2003 06:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd still prefer them to the 00's where instant death lurks around basically every corner!

rgeary (rgeary), Thursday, 13 November 2003 07:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I think you'll find it was the 80s that were safe, boring and crap. The 90s were a crazy roller coaster ride.

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 13 November 2003 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

so who said that adam? and if its one of yr friends then are you still talking to them? and if so, why?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 13 November 2003 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

the 90's were fantastic, as Geir Hongro will duly testify

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 13 November 2003 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Laura was alive in the '90s :-(

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 13 November 2003 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a great time in the '80's and the'90's. The '00's so far have totally fucking blown, but i suppose it could get better.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 13 November 2003 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

The 90's rocked. That was when I was at my most hedonistic. Partying, totally into music, taking drugs, enjoying myself, moving out for the first time, loads of new, exciting experiences.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 13 November 2003 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I wuz but a bairn. Well, 11-21.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 13 November 2003 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

And?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 13 November 2003 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

"Once we get out of the '80s, the '90s are gonna make the '50s look like the '60s."

H (Heruy), Thursday, 13 November 2003 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

The definitive statement of this view came from Tico Tico. In a pub.

the pinefox, Thursday, 13 November 2003 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

The 90's gave us the Spin Doctors.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 13 November 2003 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

and also Foul Play

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 13 November 2003 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll take boring (and an economic boom, even if partly illusory) anyday

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 13 November 2003 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned was born during them, therefore DUD.

Well I...huh?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

The 90s had no style. They were neo-classic everything.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

1990 - I'm 12 and a chess playing TMBG listening to fucking LOSER.
1999 - I'm 20 and partying like it's...well...you know. Still a LOSER though.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

are you sure about the dates there?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

That's not even nineties, Chris!

Kerry (dymaxia), Thursday, 13 November 2003 17:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 13 November 2003 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 13 November 2003 17:12 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 13 November 2003 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i drank so much and took so many psychedelics during the early 90's that they cannot be anything other than classic. But round about 1995 they started to fucking suck (family death, sobering up, financial problems, having to get a fucking job!)

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Thursday, 13 November 2003 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

sometimes i miss the hedonism of th early 90's. the decade on a whole was very up and down for me.
