I forget what it is, tho I've seen it like a billion times.

It looks like an Army Corps of Engineers structure, probably a pumping station for the levees around N.O.

Creepy quasi castles are a big part of why I never go to Slidell.

adam (adam), Sunday, 16 November 2003 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

charltonlido,

It doesn't look familiar, but I am confused:

I-10 (the "I" is not a roman numeral but actually an abbreviation for "Interstate") runs east and west, just north of Slidell. You take 59 north from New Orleans to get to Slidell.

(ps: mark s always crax me up)

gygax! (gygax!), Sunday, 16 November 2003 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i understand that the i is interstate and not roman

i was under the impression that the I-10 dropped into new orleans, like this:

charltonlido, i am indeed the one who is confused. my apologies.

three years pass...
perhaps it really is just a house?

almost certainly

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 15 January 2007 11:01 (eighteen years ago)

Seems to have been slightly damaged by Katrina. And basically, yes, 'just' a house.

Edward Trifle (Ned Trifle IV), Monday, 15 January 2007 11:04 (eighteen years ago)

so... is it near New Canal? (the image is called newcanal.jpg)

StanM (StanM), Monday, 15 January 2007 11:04 (eighteen years ago)

yes i think it must be, as route 11 is parallel with i-10 at this point

Storefront Church (688), Monday, 15 January 2007 11:35 (eighteen years ago)

it's a funny house

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 January 2007 12:34 (eighteen years ago)

I wonder if they've ever redone that stretch of the I-10. I would always get caught trying to figure out if it was a house or not and then the car would go all bumpy and shit and i'd be all 'aaaah!'.

The Taco Bell in nearby Slidell, where I'm sure conversations about who the hell would build a castle for a house occur weekly, has talking trash cans! It politely thanks you for depositing your half eaten tacos and empty Fire sauce sachets.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Tuesday, 16 January 2007 19:36 (eighteen years ago)

they're funny trash cans

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 January 2007 23:56 (eighteen years ago)

"take my bin bag, PLEASE!"

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 02:14 (eighteen years ago)

I've seen that a few times. I always assumed that it was just a house.
