I'm drinking a Summit Winter Ale, cuz it was on sale at the liquor store. It has a nice dark, nutty taste to it. What are you drinking?

Jay Dee Sah Mon (Kingfish), Monday, 17 November 2003 02:39 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread, by the way, was inspired by a comment that Sam made on ILM: "Why do I read ILM, anyway? Oh right, because I'm drunk and bored." Which made me think, yeah, I'm bored. And there's beer in the fridge!

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 17 November 2003 02:41 (twenty-one years ago)

AT ONE MINUTE PAST MIDNIGHT on the third Thursday of each November, from little villages and towns like Romanèche-Thorins, over a million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau begin their journey through a sleeping France to Paris for immediate shipment to all parts of the world.

Not now, but soon, I will be drinking some of that!

Orbit (Orbit), Monday, 17 November 2003 04:19 (twenty-one years ago)

A glass of 2003 Marques de Caceres white Rioja. I highly recommend it and it's cheap - under $8 from Trader Joe's.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 03:59 (twenty years ago)

Now I'm drinking yet more wine.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 04:44 (twenty years ago)

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 05:14 (twenty years ago)

Fruit flavored soy milks, plain BORING water and sometimes fresh orange juice. Sometimes I also go completely overboard and have Schweppes Tonic. WOOHOO. One of the few drawbacks of being pregnant: no alcohol nor coffee. BOO!

nathalie, a bum like you (stevie nixed), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 06:35 (twenty years ago)

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

Right now, it's Calistoga water.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:16 (twenty years ago)

Some nasty French merlot I was given as a leaving present from one of the kids at my work. The rest is likely to be getting used to for cooking (the thought was there though, lest I sound ungrateful).

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

Anything out of France sold as 'Merlot' has got to be vile/for export.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:22 (twenty years ago)

Fresca!

Wiggy (Wiggy), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:24 (twenty years ago)

Hence status as "a present" and not "something I would buy for myself". (xpost)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:26 (twenty years ago)

I know, ailsa. Hey, it's the thought that counts.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

SoBe Nirvana - "Mango Melon flavored beverage." Kool-Aid, essentially.

Also eating Vons sushi, which is better than I thought it'd be.

nickn (nickn), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 19:03 (twenty years ago)

Red, red wine.

Teh HoBB (the pirate king), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 21:20 (twenty years ago)

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 22:29 (twenty years ago)

oh god I miss booze.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 22:34 (twenty years ago)

I'm drinking a cheap red blend called "The Contortionist"--not bad for the seven bucks I've paid for it.

I've also been consuming a ridiculous amount of Anchor Steam, but at $9 a six pack in Burlington, VT, it's starting to hurt the man purse.

I've also been drinking a lot of Evan Williams bourbon, which is FANTASTIC and relatively cheap (about $20 a bottle).

Wow, I've been drinking a lot...I think I may officially be a drunk.

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Thursday, 6 October 2005 00:59 (twenty years ago)

I just ran out of wine!!!

walter kranz (walterkranz), Thursday, 6 October 2005 04:24 (twenty years ago)

Owing to this God damn neck brace, I have to drink everything through a straw. Right now I am drinking Corona through a straw. I shall use the last of it to wash down a Valium, then I shall retire. If I die before I wake, all I ask is that Mike Myers not portray me in the movie version.

M. V. (M.V.), Thursday, 6 October 2005 06:08 (twenty years ago)

oh god I miss booze.

A pregnant woman I know had to drink Guiness, I think, because she had very low iron level. So you can drink a little beer if you want. I think they say one glass of wine per day is in fact not so bad. But don't be like my gran who was an alcoholic and drank gallons of alcohol throughout her pregnancy. hah.
