Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Next Tuesday? Oh, go on then...

(plus I didn't speak properly to Geeta last time she was here and feel v guilty about it)

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 17 November 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Why not? Be nice to see you Geeta.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Citizen Kate (kate), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Oooh, go on then.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I bring A STRANGER?

Mandee (Jerrynipper), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

*writes in big book w.space-age stylus*
"a call has been made for collective display of quasi-human 'cheer' as the puny ones term it - how provoking"
*crushes undeserving planetary system in spasm of saurine jealousy*

Orm Dawnie Prime (mark s), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

haven't you finished that book yet?

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 17 November 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

There must be a pub called "The Free World", no? (dude)

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

There's the World's End (har har)!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there. I mean at the FAP, not the world's end.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

totally there dude

stevem (blueski), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

ignore the inner Elder Worm, it's not the boss of me

bolshy shell-self s (a la TOTAL RECALL) (mark s), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm up for this (I just want to post to this thread so I can say 'dude')(dude)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't want to miss the night of the living dude

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, good grief (dude)...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

yay dude!

I'll be a bit late though, got to meet our new trustees, show them around, and generally try and convince them we're brilliant and know what we're doing.

Any special requests as to where?

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

space!

mark s (mark s), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

this might be a little random, but depending on how big it'll be, you guys are welcome to crash my party thingy that i'm having that night. i'm organising a thanksgiving party with a theme of 'i'm thankful that this time next year, bush will be a lame duck', and we have a private room at the harrow pub off fleet street. that way geeta won't miss all the thanksgiving fun.

and there is a potluck theme of american food, so you could bring something over.

just a thought, won't be offended if you don't take me up on it. it's a nice pub and i've got it all set up. i have no idea how many people are coming. could be 3, could be 100. so i figure a few people from ILE couldn't hurt!

colette (a2lette), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

sounds really good actually colette, i'm game if others are (baaa)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I like the Harrow! Have you booked the upstairs room, Colette? You do know that lots of FAPpers are barely housetrained?

Tim (Tim), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

What a great offer colette!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

No, sorry, don't fancy going to an FAP shoehorned into someone else's meet-up with a bunch of strangers.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 17 November 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

That sounds like a great idea Colette!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

cool, thanks for the invite colette! i might be a little disoriented at a really huge party (i'm getting into london that morning!) perhaps the fap could be somewhere nearby and if people want they can go to it later on?

geeta (geeta), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Grebt plan, but I feel honour bound to direct you to Tim's last sentence.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

This idea r0x0r. I'm sure some mad individual is going to float an absurd theory about the centre of London any minute now, but I'll try and ignore it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Well assuming that Colette has booked the top room of the Harrow rather than the whole place, there is a perfectly acceptable boozer on the ground floor which can quite easily act as a venue if things upstairs were to gett to busy (or otherwise uncomfortable).

There's a very pleasant little snug too, but you'd be lucky to snag it.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Colette, that sounds great, and very kind of you. I'm up for that, and also elsewhere, though I don't really think splitting the group is a good idea.

x-post - Tim has the solution! Huzzah!

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

perfect (leers menacingly at 'Opkins)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Watch out Stevem, 'Opkins 'as very big 'ands.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

he's a tough fella.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Nah, he's a pussy

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Cat.

For some reason I pressed enter too early. Sorry Tim.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Eek, I'd like to come to this one. But, I think that due to family stuff I probably won't be able to make it on the 25th.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Gunmakers, Eyre St Hill?

Ed (dali), Monday, 17 November 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

you again!

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 17 November 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Since the chances of my moving house on that day are diminishing rapidly, I should be able to make this. Unless I am devastated by the wholething falling through...

Obviously somewhere more central would be better, but I can travel out this far easily enough.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 17 November 2003 21:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It gets four pint glasses in fap.com and is very good, plenty of room.

Ed (dali), Monday, 17 November 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Ed, pay attention - the venue has been selected and agreed before you made your suggestion!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 17 November 2003 22:14 (twenty-two years ago)

apologies

Ed (dali), Monday, 17 November 2003 22:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh! This is the 2nd FAP I am going to miss during my week in the UK.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 17 November 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

> i'm going to be in london for a few days

cool. we'll get the bulletproof curtains and warm up the helicopter...

andy

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 07:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I was gonna say that JtN was outta line if he was implying something about SGS but I thought I had better not.

this is just like the man jumping off the building thread.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 8 December 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 8 December 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 8 December 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 8 December 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 8 December 2003 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and my timidness wasn't based on thinking you Brits were bad, but just the fact that this is my first time out of the US since birth and I don't know anything about anything or what the heck I'm gonna do on this trip (me and my mom are meeting my sister in London for a week, she's in school in Edinborough for a year).

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 8 December 2003 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

no, she's not.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 8 December 2003 22:54 (twenty-two years ago)

yuh huh. She's even writing about it for The Morning News! Though it's Edinburgh. My bad.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 8 December 2003 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

we will mess you up Anthony, but in a good way :o)

not Vicky but Chris (Vicky), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Vicky or Chris - you decide (Vicky), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and Mandee say hi to Trey if you see him! me and him have been chatting like mad these days! It's great!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Is there a thread about this Dec 19th FAP somewhere? I can't find one.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I do so love the pic of Cabbage upthread. He looks like he is performing an interpretative dance to ABC's 'Poison Arrow'.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 01:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 09:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Those are pretty fucking great.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Tom's new glasses. Or are they new? Maybe they've always been that shape. What's happening on 19th?

I still prefer 'FAP'

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 18 December 2003 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

You're just sore you didn't get quoted Dave.

Also "Dear The Guardian, you appear to have posted the full name of an ilxor on your interweb thing. Sort it out. Thanks."

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 18 December 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Sick as a parrot, TBH. You still at work?

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 18 December 2003 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

is the interweb generally more right wing than left wing? or am i reading ilx too much?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 18 December 2003 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Just what I thought, Julio. Maybe we should drop Marissa Marchant a line and ask her political leanings.

Colette has now joined the ranks of famous ILXors, then :)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 December 2003 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

"I have no idea who he is, I just came for the chocolate chip cake"

Steve Mannion, yesterday

stevem (blueski), Friday, 19 December 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
i COMPETELY missed this. someone just called me at work and asked if i'd seen the article. i'm so excited. although i sound a little betty crocker as i'm described "as she arranges plates of turkey stuffing and thick wedges of key lime pie."

it's a weird article. i mean, it's good, i'm excited and stuff. but they don't really talk about the party and how many people were there and what a nice crowd it was, which is a shame.

but yeah, just what i needed on a sleepy and depressing monday!

colette (a2lette), Monday, 5 January 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't see this Colette, hooray for you!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 5 January 2004 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

although i sound a little betty crocker

There's nothing wrong with this of course

chris (chris), Monday, 5 January 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

my pie made the papers!

Ed (dali), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

i know, ed. and i feel a little bad because it sounds almost like it's MY pie. i did point it out to him, and then pointed you out, so he knew that it wasn't my pie that i arranged. but obviously one of the most striking dishes for him to write about it...
