OK instead of burying this on the old Boston CorD thread I figured I'd post this out in the open, I got my confirm finally for my hotel (Tom and I will be staying at the Ritz on Arlington St if that helps people decide on a mtg spot) and we are set as a go for Saturday I do believe, so who wants to come along and where do we want to go? Etc?

Allyzay, Monday, 17 November 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Also I categorized this thread as "A bit of the old ultra violence" so we really need to live up to that, ok?

Allyzay, Monday, 17 November 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be driving home so there will be no violence for me. The earlier meeting up the better for me. Not like noon or anything, but like 7 or so.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

and i could care less on where we go.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Should we set the location in Back Bay, or are people down with the whole Jillian's idea? (Actually the first thing I should do is check my bank balance.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Back Bay area is fine with me, of course I need to find a place to park. Although under the common is cheap and 24 hours so i'll be all set.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude I'm down with any idea! That's why god gave us feet and also taxis! Early is fine, I'm planning on leaving NY at a reasonable hour ie I'll actually wake up before 4:30. Also Boston closes early so I expected an early meeting time!

Also Sterling to thread! He promised me at Geeta's birthday that he'd come out!

Allyzay, Monday, 17 November 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

im still trying to convinve my friend to come so i have a place to crash, if he comes there will be trouble.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

yep.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

So who's on for this?

Ally
Tombot
Dan
Me

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Sterling Clover promised he'd go. Where do you wanna meet? Dan and Chris email me yr phone #s too!! You can come hang out at the hotel too, it's not the one that's got mold.

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have a cell. Im one of thosepeople, email me yours and I'll call you from my friends house. You still have my email?

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Somewhere at home? Unless that one in your log in works. Email me and I will email you back.

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

the mlescaut one still work?

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah Ally, which email should I use?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

You can email me at akearney @ millenniumptrs.com or mlescaut @ att.net, either one will work.

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Seriously though, where are we gonna go? Tom and I plan on getting in early, wrecking some shop in the hotel room and around town and then hanging with you degenerates the rest of the evening, we'll go wherever ya tell us.

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

check you mlescaut thing. We're going to go some place that plays Coldplay all night. When are you guys coming into town, tomorrow? Saturday afternoon I have some things around the house to do (making babies and cleaning closets) but I'll be free after 5.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Email sent! I am completely agnostic about where we go; it's all dependent on whether we want to walk or do the cab/T thing as far as I'm concerned.

Also, karaoke?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I would LOVE to do karaoke, and in fact Tom brought it up last night, but I have an objection:

I have had a nasty lung/throat cold for a week and a half and as such sound a lot like how Marianne Faithfull sounds these days. If you're into frog croaking tho we are on!!

Emails gotten will reply Dan I think I already had yr cell actually, I left you that insane voice mail on July 4th. We are coming in Saturday morning and leaving Sunday afternoonish.

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

And no we are not asshats about gay bars at all.

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I love that i need to pencil in my erection for saturday afternoons.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh! Grr! Okay I'm really sorry especially now that Ally's said I promised *twice* but something just came up last night and I think I can't. I may be available around midnightish?

bleh.

& I was really looking forward to meeting Dan and Chris too.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Thats too bad. If my friend doesn't come I doubt I'll be around at midnight, I'll be driving home and I don't d&d.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I know T's Pub next to the Paradise has Karaoke, but Im not positive for Saturday nights.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Maluken in Kenmore also does karaoke and is strategically near Landsdowne.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

My friend isn't coming but he's going to give me a key to his place so I can crash there. I have nice friends. Its KAHUKA time.

Im so down for "Big Country". I need bagpipes.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Maluken because the last time I was there they had "Somebody" by Depeche Mode!!!!!! JOY.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw, nice. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so out of touch with the city I haven't heard of half of these places. That sounds cool to me.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, we should have gone there over Terrastock weekend! It's literally three blocks away from the hotel you guys were at.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, we should have gone there over Terrastock weekend! It's literally three blocks away from the hotel you guys were at.

WARGH. Another time, then.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

So, the tenative plan is dinner at Maluken, followed by bar/club TBD (biggest contenders so far are Jillian's and Club Cafe)?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

OK! What time?

Allyzay, Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

7? I'll most likely skip dinner, Im broke.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I need to coordinate with the wife's thrift-store shopping plans before we set a firm time, but why don't we say 6:30 as a tenative meetup time at the hotel?

xpost 7:00 works too, Chris you should still come to dinner if only to enjoy the singing!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

of course if this is a sushi joint i can afford some rolls. 6:30 is ok with me.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

REVIVE! I missed this 6:30 nonsense. 7pm is good. So we're going to the Japanese joint first? Maybe we should post up where this is in case lurkers/other Bostonites I'm forgetting want to join?

Allyzay, Saturday, 22 November 2003 03:47 (twenty-two years ago)

7pm in front of the Hotel? I'm planning on making a quick stop at the puma store on my way.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Saturday, 22 November 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

7:00 PM: Meet at Ritz Carlton on Arlington.

7:30-ish PM: We will be at Maluken (625 Beacon st) in Kenmore Square, the Japanese restaurant in the Buckminster hotel (T-stop Kenmore; take a left after the turnstile and go up the stairs to the right and the hotel should be approx half a block down the street in front of you).

9:30 - 10:00 PM or somewhere around there we will be at either Jillian's/Tequila Rain (145 Ipswich St at the end of Landsdowne next to Fenway Park; from Kenmore Sq you would take Commonwealth to Brookline to Landsdowne to Ipswich) or Club Cafe (209 Columbus Ave on the corner of Berkely and Columbus; Back Bay T-stop on the orange line is literally a block away if you take the Clarendon Ave exit).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Saturday, 22 November 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll actually meet you all at Maluken, seeing as its right down the street from my friends. Don't wait for me at the Hotel.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Saturday, 22 November 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

We're in town and the room has an ethernet port. 3AM AIM chatters beware.

I have mix CDs for Dan & Chris, too.

TOMBOT, Saturday, 22 November 2003 20:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh and BTW how about 7:30 instead of 7? 'Cause Amtrak sucks.

TOMBOT, Saturday, 22 November 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i debated on whether or not to make mix cd's for you all, but then i thought im too twee for you hardcore folx.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Saturday, 22 November 2003 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

My girlfriend and her brother are having party at our place tonight (I'm out of town though) if you guys are looking for something to do. It's on the orange line, Stony Brook stop. Email me if you want to know where exactly.

Kris (aqueduct), Saturday, 22 November 2003 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Verdict: Boston is completely expendable.

Chris, Dan, Otis, J*** et al: not in the least. WHOOO!

TOMBOT, Sunday, 23 November 2003 07:51 (twenty-two years ago)

also: Jillian's "Mayan Sacrifice:" ultimately DUd

TOMBOT, Sunday, 23 November 2003 08:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Ultimately dud, yet still CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(PS I R fuct for singing today OH NO)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Sunday, 23 November 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I smell like beef and cheese...and my head hurts. Great meeting you all !

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Sunday, 23 November 2003 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah and that drink was ass. spicy ass.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Sunday, 23 November 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and I also stepped in a giant pile of dog turd on the way into my friends house, effectively ruining my boots.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Sunday, 23 November 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Boston might not rock but Jamaica Plains fucking does, and so does everyone I hung out with last night. You guys missed a great party at Kris' place, although we almost got mugged on the way. I passed out at 4:00, woke up at 8:00, and started drinking again at 11:00 because my head hurt. Embarrassingly, we were driving home at the time.

Otis Wheeler, Monday, 24 November 2003 03:20 (twenty-two years ago)

The dance moves will haunt my dreams forever and ever. Too bad you're all too faggy for me to even talk to, or whatever that girl said.

Fantastic to meet Chris, great to see Dan and Joei and O-town again. Otis your shirt was a work of art. Sorry they wouldn't let yr friends into the Tequila bar place, I don't even know WHY cos they were dressed fine--I think yr bad luck, man.

Allyzay, Monday, 24 November 2003 04:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sorry I missed you all; I got to Maluken after you had left. Next time I traipse around Boston looking for people, I'll make a point to know what they look like. I think I did get filmed for "The Phantom Gourmet" while I was wandering around Jillians, however--that should count for two of my fifteen minutes, in any case.

Elle (elle), Monday, 24 November 2003 04:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry we missed you Elle. The dancing was spectacular.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

The angry girl hit Tom.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Hahaha that was hysterical. All I caught of that exchange was Tom flipping her off in an extremely exagerrated fashion, I missed when he got smacked by her. I LOVE YOU BOSTON!!

Does anyone remember what song was on when the dancing commenced? I've been wracking my brain for the answer and can't for the life of me remember--I remember practically every other song they played!

I bet they never played More Than A Feeling.

Allyzay, Monday, 24 November 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh, I can't remember! I just remember thinking "DANBOT MUST DANCE NOW WOO HOO" and gettin' seriously jiggy.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude you were busting a goddamn move. Haha we had a great conversation walking to Chau Chow's actually, I brought up how everyone in the bar was staring slackjawed at you two and Tom was like, "The funniest part was how Dan's wife kept giving him shit and pretending to be embarassed by him all night, and I was like, 'Oh that looks familiar, I wouldn't know anything about that'" and I was like, "Oh ha ha ha fuck you."

Tom was pretty convinced that the song was OPP but it definitely wasn't because when OPP came on that was the point in which I was like, holy shit, if I don't leave NOW to go find Otis and Co. I will NEVER leave because this is the greatest dance club EVER.

Allyzay, Monday, 24 November 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

If they had played "More Than A Feeling" you all would have known, I would have went beserk and tackled the angry lesbot. It was some eighties song and I can't remember either.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, and Otis? If we'd partied until 4:00 AM we would have been WRECKED for church yesterday! I mean, as it was I was pretty fragile and I managed to get to sleep by 1:00!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I was actually highly disappointed we left and regret not staying a bit longer. They should've started with the good music a lot earlier and skipped the Incubus nonsense!

haha xpost LESBOT!!

Seriously this is the most fun I've had at a FAP in like a really long fucking time, you guys are all awesome.

Allyzay, Monday, 24 November 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

OPP? MAAN!

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

4am does not compute in my head anymore, if i had stayed out until 4am i would be dead. It was rough enough waking up to my friends 3 yr old at 5:30 am and having him wanting to color me pictures.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh and next time I come to Boston I am dressing MUCH SLUTTIER, what is up with all the hoochies all over the place? Expect me to come in one of these:

http://home.swipnet.se/~w-11360/Geri.jpg

except three sizes too small.

Allyzay, Monday, 24 November 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

essentially it was a spectacular night, yesterday morning was not fun. Driving some 45 minutes in my socks, with one eye open, the fresh dog poo stink and the heat on does not make for a tasty ride. As well as the fact that I had to use my ice scraper to clean poop out of my shoes...now I have to buy a new ice scraper.

The hoochies are all over Landsdowne St.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the song that got the boogie going was "People Everyday" by Arrested Development.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 5 December 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

You've been thinking about it ever since, haven't you?

Allyzay, Friday, 5 December 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah that one was a good one, but there was an 80's song right before it that made you and Tom flip out.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Friday, 5 December 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan came back from the restroom busting a move the entire way down the floor to whatever that song was. It wasn't "People Everyday" cos me and Jo3i got up and dance a little to that one too until we were like WOW THESE DANCE MOVES ARE JUST NOT TO BE SEEN.

Allyzay, Friday, 5 December 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha I have been thinking about it! I really can't remember anything beyond "WOAH THIS IS EXCELLENT MUST DANCE MUST DANCE MUST DANCE OH MY GOD I'M OUT OF SHAPE BUT I CAN'T STOP BECAUSE I'VE ONLY BEEN DANCING FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS LORD GIVE ME LUNGS AND NEW THIGHS oh fuck it, must drink tobasco-laden tequila now"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 5 December 2003 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

thankfully i wasn't drunk enough at that moment or else the running man would have been busted.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Friday, 5 December 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

The song was "Bust A Move" by Young MC. And we did. I remembered rapping along with the lyrics. That song was OURS.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 11 December 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

That explains my subconcious description of Dan's restroom walk as actually busting a move, then. Cos that's not actually a phrase I'd ever use in the world at all period.

Allyzay, Thursday, 11 December 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

CLARITY

I can put that demon to rest, finally!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 11 December 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Now all I want is a hitler outfit, an ice cream cake and a glass of tequila with lots of hot sauce in it. And Young MC blasting out of my JVC. Today is going to go by very slowly, I think.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 11 December 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

That is the weirdest "all I want..." that I've possibly ever seen. ALL I WANT IS TO LOOK LIKE DER FUHRER AND STUFF MYSELF WITH SPICY-TEQUILA SOAKED COOKIE PUSS! WHY IS IT ALL SO DIFFICULT!

http://www.whirlybird.org.uk/gareth.jpg
someone should photoshop cookie puss in here somewhere.
