Just what is their problem?

I know a handful of these people. They never fail to mention how wonderful their training regimen is, and how you lack one. Funny, they don't look much different from me save for a tiny bit more sinew and facial fidgetiness! Also funny how some of them are barely employed yet still feel more productive than the general population because they wake up to go running!

I also see a link between this type of behavior and the personality types that likes to surround themselves with party people yet never parties themselves. They show up, have one drink, then proceed to walk around, grinning and telling people they are "too much!"

I like sinew.

I worked out for the first time in two months yesterday. I am in pain.

Pain & sinew are good things!

Sinew is making me hongry.

I gave away my one and only livejournal code to a friend at work who used it to write his diary on how many weights he lifted and what he did on the circuit. Gah!

People who obsess with going to the gym and what they did there are boring.

But then, I'd rather sit on the couch and eat popcorn.

And the worst part is, Adam, that the pain truly peaks out on day two of post-dormancy-workout. Have fun!

Leee, perhaps sinewy is a poor description. "Swollen" would be better. "Sinew" implies a natural wiryness-without-effort probably idealized by indie children. "Ooh I love long sinewy guitar-playing arms caressing my pale, (naturally) shapeless ass as we listen to Erase Errata."

Trayce, one of my friends, an iron-monkey (juice-free), tells me this story of a huge bulbous guy who asked him to spot for him. While my friend was spotting and the guy was talking to him, some UNKNOWN FLUID hissed out of the gigantor's bicep and onto my friend's shirt.

Also, I don't want to look like one of those people who attempt to define themselves by opposition -- oh look at those self-improving meatheads waste time and money while I, a perfect little lilypad, play with words and pictures -- I just really hate those who go overboard with fitness and foist their lifestyle upon me when I want to do is eat and sleep.

I was sort of conflating sinew with tendon, which is very delicious esp. in beef noodle soup.

I'm gonna be so buff in three month's time.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 05:49 (twenty-two years ago)

preparing for my visit, huh?

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 05:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I need to work out more strenuously. Every other day I run 2 miles, do 180 crunches/bicycle thingees, and 60 pushups. I look and feel the same as when I started, which was sometime around the middle of May. My stomach is literally the only part of my body that has any fat. I'm not worried about it at all---I don't have a beer gut or anything---but a six-pack would be kinda cool. There, I said it.
