Damn You, Minipops Quiz! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

Remember those little Minipops, the tiny-pixel-charicatures of pop culture characters? Somebody in Britain put together an excel spreadsheet of 'em, and they're being sent around.

found here, or a million other places,or it's probably goign to be emailed to you, if it hasn't already.

Be warned: it will consume your SOUL! until you finish most of it, at least. A good way to blow a coupla hours at work, at least.

(hint: Slade)

Craig Robinson, the inventor of Minipops, is a friend of mine here in Berlin. We go bowling together, and he made a Minipop of me for the sleeve of my recent compilation album. (He'd made some before we met too.)

When Radio 1 picked up on the Minipops Excel quiz, Craig's website got so many hits he had to close it down for a couple of weeks. He couldn't afford the bandwidth requests coming in to his host server. It's now up again and worth a look.

I sleep with a Minipops poster at the head of my bed. Figuring out who's who is better than counting sheep.

http://www.flipflopflyin.com/minipops/mp_strokes.gif

they should shrink down to that size and do all their shows and videos like that.

ethereal cereal (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 05:22 (twenty-two years ago)

what if you dont have excel ?

anthony easton (anthony), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 07:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been a fan of FlipFlopFlyin for years, and I'm glad this sudden burst of attention has come his way (even if it shut down his website for a while). The Minipops are cool but they're not close to my favorite thing on his website ( http://www.flipflopflyin.com ). (I'm not sure what my favorite thing is, but I do like that one that involves the webcam on his kitchen shelf.)

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 08:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I got all of the first quiz & all of the second.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Jeremy the Kingfish (Kingfish), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Where is this second quiz you speak of?

Leee Majors (Leee), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)
