Hi, I occasionally post on ILE but there is one thing that I don't understand that occurs rather frequently.

Why are so many of the ILE cadre of ex-tofutti eaters ashamed of tofutti? (that's USA tofutti, not the UK "Soy with benefits"/Britfood tofutti)

Yes, y'all wearing your tofutti clothes, checking out tofutti girls/boys, closet eating tofutti allthewhile suspectly buying other foods to boost your ILE cred... you are among the first to bash "Tofutti: The Snack"?

Why ya frontin', y0?

Peer pressure? Diseased with culinary fashion? is this a po-mo "ironic" move like the fleeting Quorn/carob affection of last year?

sorry soyaz but i have to drop the soyence here and say those mint n chip tofutti cuties are wack. the mint chip part's aight, but the tofutti part just ain't happenin. it just kinda violates the tofutti AESTHETIC... which none of you understand. Read Sid Mika's Soya fooled me if you want the real deal.

I like Rice Dream better... the strawberry kind is really good. And vanilla is great on a brownie. I haven't seen it here in the UK though, just the rice milk.

I'm not anti Tofutti though. The only products I'm against are the scary rubber mock chicken nuggets my mother served us in the 80s.

I thought Tofutti was ice cream, or rather ice dream. Soy Milk is not tofutti. Nor is regular common or garden tofu (which is really difficult to get in the UK unless you go to Chinatown and this upsets me though I'm avoiding the Chinatown tofu because even though it's yummy, the last time I had it, I cut the top of my finger off trying to hack it up.)

tofutti is the brand name of a varitey of tasty soy-based vegan products, the most popular being fake cream cheese and fake ice cream. i actually find the c.c. to be kind of meh, but the tofutti cuties (little ice cream sandwiches), fudgesicles, and vanilla fudge ripple mentioned above are bangin'.

i've had good homemade tofu cream cheeses at various bagel shops, but i really dislike the official tofutti product. it tastes weird and plasticky to me. those fudgesicles, though... mmm.

The tofutti cream cheese is so good. It's a FACT! I especially like the chives one. I once ate a box of the tofutti raspberry cuties in 30 minutes. The tofutti sour cream is also tops. I actually despise rice dream ice cream and all other tofu ice cream brands. So watery, icey and hard.
