the publishing symbol

I refer to the little 'p' inside a circle. I can't find one anywhere. Can you link me to one, or is there some deeper software problem involved?

I notice the copyright symbol is everywhere, why not the publishing symbol? Very puzzling.

There's no money in publishing.

Except there is. How do you think songwriters make their $$$? Ignoranus.

I thought this was going to be about the symbols on the spines of books: penguins, puffins, dolphins, Borzoi, MIT's black flag, the Routledge faces, etc.

Well this is extremely helpful. By the way, I was being sarcastic.

You may find it under Character Map (Winblows) or Keycap[?] (Mac) if you sort through your fonts. I can't recall the symbol off hand.
If your using TeX or LaTeX which probably have it (sounds like something they would have) I couldn't help you anymore.

This site is superb (but doesn't have your answer) : http://www.symbols.com/index.html

There is a similar symbol in Webdings - ctrl-alt-shift-U

This one has your answer (but you won't like it) : http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/expertcharacters/f/circled_p.htm

The P is for phono, not publishing. It's for sound recordings only, innit?

Simeon (Simeon), Thursday, 20 November 2003 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

The lists of characters describe it as 'sound recording copyright'.

Surface noise's second post above contains the correct HTML code for it, but it may just be rendered as a ??? in your browser.
