stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Getting up every morning.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

My son, although I don't know if "achievement" is the right word.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I invented POST-ITs

the postfox, Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw sense.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i knew nick would say that, kudos sir

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

haven't had it happen yet.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris, what about that time you crapped your pants in college?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

come now chris, you have brought unbridled joy to the hearts of many men with your photoshoppery

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I invented Stevem

chris (chris), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks for reminding me Horace.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

my s.g.a.: never EVER forgetting that Chris crapped his pants in college.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I invented Stevem
-- chris

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

you are a figment of my imagination

chris (chris), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

or am i?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

About 9 years ago, my wife and I adopted our daughter from Paraguay. I'm not sure "achievement" is the right word - but it surely is one of the most important steps I've taken in my life. And, yes, my daughter is a bright, thoughtful, funny young girl who is a joy to both of us, although, I must admit, she does already sound like a teenager.

ed dill (eddill), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Ed, that's a lovely post. I'm 60% convinced you didn't kidnapp her.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

that thing i posted on ilm once, you know *struggles*

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

The mythical Nick Hornby post that just exists in our imaginations?

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not dead yet. Thast's pretty good.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

not killing myself, and that achivement seems less and less each day.

doesntmatter, Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

That gig I played last night was pretty good.

I was pretty proud the first time I beat Mega Man 2 as well.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Caring for my ex (no-one on this bitch, incidentally) through her descent into mental illness.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 20 November 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

So far, all the things I have had published (haha all 5 or so) and finding someone to love.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

still alive

ken c, Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Its always an achievement when i piss on what people like on ilm.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

insert obvious joke based on mis-reading julio's post a-here

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

ditto to a couple of the above posts. Surely my greatest achievement is (almost) making it to 30 without committing suicide.

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I am a very good father to my kids, and that's what I've done best. After that, my books I guess, and my speaking gigs making children laugh. Not sure if I can claim any other things, but I don't need to.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I ate 4 lbs of corn in one 30 minute sitting. I placed 5th in the competition.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I am a complete failure.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Are not.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Come on, guy! Dont be so hard on yourself!

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I dunno-meeting (and keeping!) the right gal, various half-assed film projects, my poorly-conceived and possibly insane transatlantic move?

More to come, I hope...

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

chris you make wondeful music. and adam will make wonderful movies.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

adam is my role model

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

You're going to hell.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I won a cheeseburger eating contest once when I was a child! They gave me a special diploma!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

and then you ate that as well

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I won 30 quid on bingo in some spanish resort and spent it all at once on a massive Shinobi binge. Job well done, I think.

Chuck Tatum (Chuck Tatum), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio, does that mean you finally downloaded a few songs?

Anyway I was saying that more for effect than actually feeling that way; my current feeling that playing a show in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, will be my single greatest achievement is obviously so horribly wrong that even I have trouble taking it seriously; and yet there it is, giving me a reason to wake up in the morning.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Sam's greatest achievement: Being this super-strong, very sharp and astute individual who is also a great person to befriend and certainly a great person overall.

My greatest achievement: None as of yet to speak of, but hopefully coming in the future. Watch out world, etc.

Pancakes For Breakfast! (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

''Julio, does that mean you finally downloaded a few songs?''

yeah i heard a couple of MP3s. I liked one of the songs a lot actually (can't remember what its called now tho').

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Watch out world, etc.

great album title,
Dee, now don't waste it, go get
a guitar right now!

Haikunym (Haikunym), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely my greatest achievement is (almost) making it to 30 without committing suicide.

Does that mean you didn't make it, Sam?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:52 (twenty-two years ago)

No, Jordan, that means I've still got three weeks before I hit 30.

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I won a cheeseburger eating contest once when I was a child! They gave me a special diploma!

and then you ate that as well

He smoked it.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh and Dee. ::HUGS::

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know, they're never achievements once you've achieved them.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

My answer's staying alive, too. Erm... great achievement or failure to take the hint? Not really sure.

ChrissieH (chrissie1068), Thursday, 20 November 2003 21:32 (twenty-two years ago)

so far, its the international telepaths. theres ample room for improvement of course, but just learning to play guitar and write songs and overcome my fear of singing in public were the best three things i've ever done. self-belief doesn't come easy for me.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 20 November 2003 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess it was getting the highest ever scholarship in the history of my school. (The seven years of misery that followed were obviously crap, but hey, getting there was an achievement).

And finding someone daft enough to marry and look after me :)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 20 November 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

the "Da Funk" thread

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Thursday, 20 November 2003 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

its all been downhill since.

zappi (joni), Thursday, 20 November 2003 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

To Haikunym:

I would if I could
But I can't, so I won't -- you
Know, that sort of thing!

(Sorry hon. No budget for a guitar at present. Maybe sometime in the future, though. Incredibly pleased about the response, though!)

To Sam:

Yay hugs! Am a total suckah for hugs. *hugs back*

Pancakes For Breakfast! (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 20 November 2003 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

All my former "greatest achievements" pretty much seem like nothing now. This is the problem with accomplishing your goals.

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

One thing you can do is achieve all sorts of things, and then end up in circumstances where you could easily be seen as a failure. That makes your past achievements seem much better.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Maintaining the relationships I have & being strong through tough times.
