OK, I just took a look at the local evening paper. I used to play in a band w/this percussionist years and years ago. He was a nice fellow, though I haven't seen him for a good few years. The lead story of the paper is that recently he, along w/a friend of his basically beat someone to death, and he's up in court at the moment for it. WTF???? man.....

okay, seriously...
A guy I know did a similar thing. I actually know his brother a lot better, though I haven't talked to him (the brother) in a long time either. But the killing was one of the most shitty things you could imagine and I mean, you don't ever think that people you know have the capacity for such brutality...

as for your friend, you don't know for sure he did anything - but even nice people can get into fights.

i don't know. The story was vague, it just said that he and this other gut beat someone up, and he died. his wife and his dad are regular customers, god knows what i'm going to say to them next time they're in...
