No no no not a class polemic. I mean, it's November so the council has to spend its surplus money so they're digging roads and fencing off everything and resurfacing parking lots and running noisy drills day and night and I have to take like 25 detours to get to my house, when I can get in at all cuz they're painting and refurbishing and drilling etc., and the other day they hit a sewer line on Copenhagen St. so the whole area stunk, and to thwart the insectoid scum kids with their scooters they've built huge metal fences and barriers in every conceivable fenceable gap there is so you have to take even more detours. What the fuck is this, Palestine? The whole street has been descended upon by an occupying force of these green-jacketed fucking brickies! Why fucking re-surface a road just to fucking block it off for six months to subsequently build road-humps in it, meanwhile they've narrowed the sidewalks to about two inches and just strewn road cones all over everything! And that's not even mentioning the CTRL shit that's been going on all year! WHAT THE FUCK IS THE NECESSITY FOR ALL THIS!!!? Can't they just build another Millenium Dome somewhere 900 miles away from real people or something?

(news from back home, they had this referendum over whether to build a hotel/'leisure complex' on the last stretch of untouched beachfront, and the folks were like "it's a tough decision, some people need those jobs", I'm like "there's still oil buried in the Arctic for fuck's sake!" Like what is WITH some people!)
