Oh my god. One of my coworkers was listening to this song a few minutes ago and I can't stop singing it now and I think I'm going to go insane SOMEONE HELP ME.

I've categorized this as "Crime" btw, for obvious reasons :(

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
I have never seen that dress you're wearing
Or the highlights in your head that catch your eyes I have been blind
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never for get, the way you look tonight

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, It took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight

The way you look tonight
I never will forget, the way you look tonight
The lady in red
The lady in red
The lady in red
My lady in red (I love you.)

haha!

I wish I had a red dress on now.

Allyzay, Friday, 21 November 2003 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I never saw you look like this without a reason
Another promise fallen through, another season passes by you
I never took the smile away from anybody's face
And that's a desperate way to look for someone who is still a child
In a big country dreams stay with you
Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside
Stay alive
I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert
But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime
In a big country dreams stay with you
Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside
Stay alive
So take that look out of here, it doesn't fit you
Because it's happened doesn't mean you've been discarded
Pull up your head off the floor, come up screaming
Cry out for everything you ever might have wanted
I thought that pain and truth were things that really mattered
But you can't stay here with every single hope you had shattered

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Friday, 21 November 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I have the "HOOO HOOO...HOO HOOOOOO" part of 'Sympathy for the Devil' stuck in my head. Not too cool either.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 21 November 2003 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

The thing is, earlier I had Alizee's "Moi...Lolita" in my head which is obviously MUCH BETTER except for one small problem, that being that I don't speak French so I didn't actually have anything in my head besides a half mumbled chorus and then shouting "moi...LoLITA!!!" and that was totally fucking with me but god, Lady in Red wtf.

Seriously though now he's listening to Dreamweaver, what is wrong with these people?

Allyzay, Friday, 21 November 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Try listening to a sappy James Taylor-esque Christmas carol on endless repeat SINCE NINE THIS MORNING because you have to learn it before before 5.

In the morning
At the diner

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee
And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue
He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee
And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue
He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in
"It is always
Nice to see you"
Says the man
Behind the counter
To the woman
Who has come in
She is shaking
Her umbrella
And I look
The other way
As they are kissing
Their hellos
I'm pretending
Not to see them
Instead
I pour the milk
I open
Up the paper
There's a story
Of an actor
Who had died
While he was drinking
It was no one
I had heard of
And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies
When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head
There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?
No she does not
Really see me
Cause she sees
Her own reflection
And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt
And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Is getting wet
Oh, this rain
It will continue
Through the morning
As I'm listening
To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice ...
And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began ...
I finish up my coffee
It's time to catch the train

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 21 November 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyway that's the song I've always used to get other songs stuck out of my head.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 21 November 2003 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum,
What might be right for you, may not be right for some.
A man is born, he's a man of means.
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

But they got, Diff'rent Strokes. It takes,
Diff'rent Strokes. It takes,
Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

Everybody's got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine,
It don't matter that you got,
NOT ALOT,
So what,
They'll have theirs, and you'll have yours, and I'll have mine.
And TOGETHER WE'LL BE FINE....

'cause it takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
Yes it does.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
H-MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Do you remember the video for George Harrison's "Got My Mind Set On You"? For some reason it just came into my head. With his anthropomorphic living room?

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Thursday, 23 September 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahaha that video gave me nightmares! I had to put up with dreams about getting chased by chairs and lamps for three nights; I'd be all running away screaming and then I'd wake up and think "George Harrison, I hate you."

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Thursday, 23 September 2004 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

Couldn't think of any lyrics
No I never wrote the lyrics
So I'll just sing any old lyrics
That come to mind, child

You really need words
Whole lotta rhyming words
You gotta rhyme so many words, mm-mm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it
To do it, to do it right, child

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

I know that you're probably sore
'Cause I didn't write any more
I just didn't get to complete it
So that's why I gotta repeat it

This song is just six words long (six words long)
This song is just six words long (six words long)

Oh I make a lotta money
They pay me a ton of money
They're payin' me plenty of money
To sing this song, child

I gotta fill time
Three minutes worth of time
Oh, how will I fill so much time, mm-mm
I'll throw in a solo, a solo, a solo
A solo, a solo here

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

This song's got nothin' to say
But I'm recording it anyway
I know if I put my mind to it
I know I could find a good rhyme here

Oh, you gotta have-a music
You need really catchy music
This song has got plenty of music
But just six words, child

And so I'll sing' em over
And over and over and over
And over and over and over, mm-mm
And over and over and over
And over and over and over again

Six words long, six words long
Six words long, six words long
Six words long, six words long

This song is just six words long
It's just six words long

i went to the gas station today and the pa was playing "People Out There Makin' Music Into Gold".
Which is about the same era as "Mexican radio" and for some reason i have connected these songs together for my entire life.
Which probably explains some of my mental illnesses.

aimurchie, Thursday, 23 September 2004 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah there was another video for the same song in which he was trying to win a ballerina. Why there were TWO VIDEOS for that song and why I remember them both is kind of beyond my comprehension.
