Weird, I always thought the movie was older than that; somewhere in storage I have a 7" my mother gave me called "Santa Claus Versus The Martians" (or maybe there's a verb instead of "Versus," but I don't think so) that's this sort of surreal radio-play thing ... kind of. It was in with her other vinyl from her early teens (my mother was born in 1943).

I haven't listened to it since seeing the MST3K episode, but I always assumed it was somehow related. Hrm. Maybe I can convince my brother to go over there and dig through stuff and find it for me so I have some info to look up.
