Romain Kacew was not estranged to wordplays.
He took the name Romain Gary (gary = russian imperative of "to burn"), won a Goncourt with it. He was fed up of being identified to the id people had made for him + the academy never give 2 prices to the same author. So he took yet another pseudoname Emile Ajar (ajar=coals in russian) and with it managed to con the academia to give him a second Goncourt.
