DVD/VHS hookup to TV Problem

I have a Zenith TV set that is 10 years old, in excellent condition. It only has one video input port on the back. I have a Sony DVD player, and a separate Quasar VHS player. Since there is only 1 video port on the back of the TV, I cannot hook up both players to it. Is there a converter or "splitter" that I can obtain, so I can hook up both players to the TV set?

You might be able to run a SCART from the DVD to the VCR and then another from the VCR to the TV if you have the right ports on the VCR. If not you can get a SCART splitter from Dixons for about a tenner.

running the dvd player through the vhs may not work depending on the devices' approach(es) to copy protection

We have 20+ TV/VCR/DVD setups in my department of the library and they all run using that system.

You may run into Macrovision problems that way.

Thanks, everyone. What about an RF Converter? I called Circuit City and asked about my problem, and they suggested an RF Converter. I looked it up on their website, and it sounds like it may solve my problem. Any ideas on it? By the way, the DVD player is a multi-region player (JVC).

You should be able to go to your electronics store and get a Y-adapter that allows you to hook both the DVD and the VCR to a single composite (also known as RCA) input, but you'd obviously only be able to run one at a time. You could also look at something like this if you have more than one item you want to add.
