Pirate Name Generator, ahoy!

m jemmeson, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Just call me Iron Anne Bonney. I guess. I was hoping for something as cool as William the Bloody. It's not bad, though.

Nicole., Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Iron Sam Kidd, apparently. I was hoping for Sebastian.

Graham, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Captain Anne Rackham? I sound like a horrible British fishwife, not a pirate.

Ally, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Mad Jack Bonney"

Mike Hanle y, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Iron Jack Flint.

Richard Tunnicliffe, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Jack Rackham

i think the choice of names may be a little limited...
still, the questions are cool

m jemmeson, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Red Mary Kidd. These names aren't funny and I'm related to Graham.

Madchen, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

these things are always better in theory than practice... still, helps pass the day

m jemmeson, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Jack Bonney - arr, hanle y swine be my brother.

Geoff, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This is true, I totally forgot that it was an easy way to pass what would otherwise have been a boring ten minutes at work so I take it back, including the bit about Graham.

Madchen, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

These names aren't funny and I'm related to Graham

Hmmph.

I mean Aaargh

Graham, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am RASTA: Dread Pirate Rackham!

Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

YES! This reminds me I must make a start on my Yiddish dub record again.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Charity Kidd

toraneko, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dread Pirate Read is me name. Arrrr!

Maybe there should be an ILE pub crawl where we all have to dress as pirates... arrrr!

Paul Strange, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

FanTASTIC - all us Dread Pirates should get together to do a PIRATE DUB RECORD. I and I inna good ship Babylon sailing de seven seeez. Arr (arr arr!) inna "oi oi oi" styleee. ACE I must consult with my dub loving chum.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Captain Jack Kidd, I am related to both Madchen *and* Graham

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

chris, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The KIDD pirates have to do a country stylee record. They would be stetson wearing pirates.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Pirate/Reggae link exists: there is already a law which says a certain percentage of reggae compilations must have a picture of a pirate on the front, ideally with treasure chest full of records spilling onto the sand.

m jemmeson, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Mary Bonney

mark s, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well shiver me fuckin' timbers: Iron Mary Roberts.

suzy, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dirty John Bonney. The smelly one. I'm liking the Bonney clan

Arthur, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Jack Bonney in da house!

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Another Bonney here. Black Jack Bonney. Arr or something.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Pirate Fite! Mad Jack v. Black Jack! Who wins?

Madchen, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Clearly Black Jack with his superior talent for...um...something.

No lie -- back in the 1880s or so, two of my ancestors (brothers to the guy who was my great-grandfather, if I have this right) ended up in a weird tussle where one killed the other (newspaper accounts are muddied, we're still digging up the info). The name of one of the people involved -- 'Black Dick' Raggett, who lived with a woman of fallen virtue and apparently could 'wield a hypodermic needle most skillfully.' I swear I'm not making this up!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm just so GODDAM PIRATEY that it wouldn't let me fill in the questions. Ooooaaaargh.

Smeagol, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

They don't let corrupt hobbits like you on ships.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black Tom Flint.

"Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped and sparky."

What the hell is this, Psychoanalysis Island?!!

Trevor, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

(gollum != hobbit, but evolutionary precursor gone devo

mark s, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Anne Kidd apparently. that was the best larff i've had all day!

katie, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bloody James Read!

I love the description best: "Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!" Very apt.

Tadeusz Suchodolski, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad James Kidd!

jel, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Arrr, the Bonney clan be a large one.

Red Sam Bonney, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Iron Sam Bonney. How shocking; Ned and I come from the same pirate clan.

Dan Perry, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dirty William Kidd - no Kidding (um, sorry).

Billy Dods, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd rather be Purple Heart McGraw, scourge of the Dover strait.

jel, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Calico Mary Kidd or Calico Anne Bonney (about two weeks ago). I'll go with Anne.

Maria, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Tom Read // Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!

It's generic, but it's true.

the pinefox, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mad Mary Read, Arrr...

Exactly the same description as the pinefox, eep. There aren't many of us Read Pirates around, are there? Is this because the rest of yers be thickos, arrr?

emil.y, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

We are the Well-Read Pirates. It's a minimal crew. Why do I have to be called Tom, though? Mary is at least real. Or is Tom Read real too?

the pinefox, Monday, 8 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Captain Davy Kidd

Bekkhild the Red, arrrrr. Which is, I feel, a considerable improvement on Black Grace Bonney. At least I sound slightly less like a horse now.

Rebecca, Tuesday, 9 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 13 April 2003 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Calico Sam Bonney
A lot of fucking Bonney's on the seas.

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 14 April 2003 01:47 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 8 September 2003 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Dread Pirate Flint.

Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

luna (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Black John Cash.

I made a man walk the plank just to watch him drown.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I kid not: Black Mary Cash. Bizarro - arrr!

Lara (Lara), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Arrrrr.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Captain Jenny Cash, apparently we're all related.

But I have rank.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:08 (twenty-two years ago)

arrrgh!

Red William Bonney (M Matos), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Captain Tom Bonney

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Dread Bloody Fluffykins!

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Pirate: Bloody Anne Kidd

Viking: Poopsie the Peevish (I got wise: using your real name is lame-o.)

Ann Sterzinger (Ann Sterzinger), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:12 (twenty-two years ago)

arrrghh...the machine told me that "I'll do fine" and that "I have style, if not flair."

It not only be givin' me my name, it also be some kind of FLATTERY machine!

Red Harry Cash (gcannon), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Where are the wenches?

Yarr.

Dread Pirate Flint (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Iron Sam Cash. But the other pirates call me simply Iron Sam. Cause, you know, I'm all hard an' stuff.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Your pirate name is:

Red Jenny Read

Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!

Viking name: Julia Fairhair

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Dirty Davy Kidd

You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!
-----

Hey! I said I only occasionally missed a shower.
I prefer to spell my name thusly: Dirrrty Davy Kidd. Arr.

oops (Oops), Monday, 8 September 2003 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Walk the plank, ya scabrous dogs!

Dread Pirate Flint (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Wank the plalk!

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

It had to be you.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, everyone else was busy.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I wasn't complaining.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Should I go back to wanking?

... I'd say that came out wrong, but I'm the one who set it up.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Just watch out for the hook.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Hook? What --

AAARRRR

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Easy on the goods, darlin'

luna (luna.c), Monday, 8 September 2003 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I just shivered a timber.

Dirty Davy Rackham.
I told it I bathed daily but it still said I smelled! Wha?

Dan I., Tuesday, 9 September 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Black Harry Cash

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You're musical, and you've got a certain style if not flair. You'll do just fine. Arr!

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Tuesday, 9 September 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Does this mean Dan, Ally and I are siblings?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 22:32 (twenty-two years ago)
