Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 27 November 2003 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

WHERE IS A SERIOUS GIRL, WHO REALLY AIMS UNSUCCESSFUL CLOCK STORE?

Egon KENTOR (nickdastoor), Thursday, 27 November 2003 09:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Everybody needs clocks, so why would your clock store be unsuccessful? Would you be selling broken clocks or something?

The clock in my office is broken. It's a lovely Wallace & Gromit one which I was given for Christmas last year but sadly the hour hand has fallen off it. I know it's currently five past something, but I don't know what :(

C J (C J), Thursday, 27 November 2003 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i din't think that's the kind of girl jess is talking about - he's a rebel, ken, a loner

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 27 November 2003 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Everyone needs clocks, but clocks tend to be the kind of thing one purchases only very rarely--when an old clock breaks or when you move into a new place or something. You need to offer at your store things besides clocks. I suggest also selling busts of Abraham Lincoln.

Ian Johnson (orion), Saturday, 29 November 2003 05:59 (twenty-one years ago)

There's an unsuccessful clock store in Dunedin. The guy who owns the shop always acts as if you're 'pushing him too far' but it's a good shop because it's not a jewellers, it's purely devoted to horology. He has a blacked out window onto the street with a little gap in it through which you can watch him mending clocks (even though he seems annoyed by people?)

maryann (maryann), Saturday, 29 November 2003 06:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 29 November 2003 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Julio - no, I really don't think so - I have reason to think he's not married because a notorious liar in Dunedin told me that he knew him, according to this guy, he's an ex-junky, and he sort of seems like one. He never looks you in the eye. I suppose my interest in him is a bit corny because he really is like the classic 'underground man' character. It's awful writing this - imagine if by some chance he ever read it - though there's no reason to think he would.

maryann (maryann), Saturday, 29 November 2003 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll give you a tip: Don't marry the clockmaker's daughter.

1) If you do your clock store will probably be successful due to her clockmaking expertise.

2) I hear she's a lousy lay.

Hurting (Hurting), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 04:39 (nineteen years ago)
