what are your ambitions? how far are you towards achieving it?

I don't seem to know what my ambitions are, in fact, everything ahead seems to be blank at the moment. My ambition goes as far as "I want to one day have an ambition". It's really depressing.

my ambition is to sell 35,000 copies of one of my records

ambition is rubbish. deferred gratification suxors. the one thing i'm most proud of is: i'm never bored.

enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 27 November 2003 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

how do you manage that??

ken c, Thursday, 27 November 2003 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

especially given how often you post to ILX!

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 27 November 2003 12:18 (twenty-one years ago)

ilx is one of the reasons i'm never bored!! the others include book obsession, semi-alcoholism, etc. ppl wd say these are symptoms of boredom i suppose, but what do they know?

enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 27 November 2003 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It took me until early this year to realise I wasn't ambitious. I'm not being negative about it, either, because I'm not sure it's such a bad thing to not have what is basically an invented value you've been force-fed with the idea you ought to have.

Enrique may secretly be me.

I used to have ambitions. I wonder what happened to them. I really need to think about this. Perhaps I was an unhappier person when I had ambitions, because 1) not achieving them made me feel worthless and 2) achieving them and being unhappy with them made me feel that my ambitions were worthless.
