I have some Gravis sneakers that I got in Montreal, they are very nifty but unfortunately beginning to fall apart. I also have some grey suede vans steve caballero low-tops that were my favorite for years but are also basically unwearable now; I got them at the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

None of my shoes have interesting stories, unfortunately. I want some Mitre sneakers, but they don't sell them in the U.S.

Just bought some Etnies' Callicut in brown for £40 in a shopping centre in Stoke on Trent, weirdly.

I also have a pair of Osiris' Dave Mayhew DX3 2001. I'd never seen anyone else wearing them until I watched Avril Lavigne's video for 'Complicated'. She was wearing them. Damn. Though actually I saw someone wearing them on the tube about a fortnight ago.

The only other pair of shoes I have are a pair of £20 Adidas that I bought about five years ago in Tesco. Made in China! Woo!

got a new pair of campers recently which are the squeakiest! and i kind of like it. i suspect that the woman who sold them to me was flirty, as she lamented that she wouldn't see me for a while (?) and said i could come by anytime and she would shine them for me (?) ;-)

- blue Converse All-Star low-tops
- black Converse All-Star low-tops
- blue and whitish Pumas
- these ugly-ass Skechers that are somewhere between nice shoes and sneakers, with a wide almost-square toe, possibly the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned

the last pair of sneakers I bought were chuck taylors, purple and black, 1994.

I've just spent half an hour photographing my sneakers and trying to jpg-ise the photo and it won't fucking work!

Oooh, those are nice. I need to get some new shoes (I guess I've lost weight again - my Chucks are too big), I'll have to try them.

Other choice:

These are my beloved battered old Chuck Taylors. As you can see, I've sewn a patch to the ankle wot says "100% Dirty", it was a promo cloth badge that came with my copy of Sonic Youth's "Dirty" LP.

The shoes carried me through my first Big Day Out in 1993, during which it pissed with rain, and I pogoed up and down in mud puddles to TISM gleefully. The shoes remained encrusted with bits of dried mud proudly for months afterwards, making the proclamation on the ankle actually true!

I still have them and wear them to this day even though they now have a few holes in the soles.
