Goddamn but that West Edmonton Mall is completely over the top. It's like Disneyland but without the "you will have fun" shotgun to your head.

While we were there we saw, among a zillion curious things, a candy cane vibrator. It was shaped like a candy cane and was apparently a vibrator.

So. Tell me about oversized malls and the curious things you've seen in them.

I mean, a replica of the Santa Maria filled with Toys For Tots? An enormous bowling alley with a neon moose? There was apparently a roller coaster somewhere in there. Oh, and they're getting 114 flamingos? For the aquarium? Or something? Crazy.

Great thread title, this.

can this be the thread where we heap hatred on the mall experience during December? My god that makes me go out of my head; I don't even go near that part of town during the holidays.

also kisses to anthony, thx.

I grew up (and my parents still live) in northern New Jersey -- arguably the mall capital of the country. My parents' house is within 10 minutes of no less than five malls -- two of which are friggin enormous. Traffic in these parts is a nightmare. But I love shopping out here, even when the stores are crazy.

ORANGE CITY, Florida (AP) -- A mob of shoppers rushing for a sale on DVD players trampled the first woman in line and knocked her unconscious as they scrambled for the shelves at a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

"We are very disappointed this happened," Burk said. "We want her to come back as a shopper."

Return to the scene of her near death? THAT'S highly likely. Can we say "lawsuit", lads and lasses?

Oh, I meant to add that one of the most exciting things about going to the West Edmonton Mall is that now I never need go to the Mall of America! Yay!
