Movies to poop on: Ron Howard

OK, he did a couple of things with some merit for 80's nostalgia. Splash was the first movie where I ever saw a naked lady. I guess Willow was cool when I was a kid. Maybe he acted in some OK movies earlier on. But this guy has spawned some of the most turgid and overrated mainstream entertainment ever. I can't stand the forced sentimentality, the histrionic contrived drama, and the greasily overpolished, prefab-classic McHollywood filmmaking style, with it's lame "deep metaphor" cliches, of movies like A Beautiful Mind. It's all so self-congratulatory. Like Spielberg for the pseudo-sophisto adult crowd. And he should get capital punishment for the live-action Grinch That Stole Xmas. Now I haven't watched enough of this stuff to go into more detail, so can anyone else please share the hate?
