how to close an email account

just stop using it. after s.th. like 3 months w/o use, they'll close it down automatically anyway.

if you want to prevent yourself compulsively checking your inbox during the three month period, then perhaps you could, in a cavalier fashion, randomly highlight some highly technical, possibly foreign, text on an unfamliar website - something you can't possibly remember - and then, without vacillation, copy and paste it into the boxes where you change your password, and then log out, for ever.
