Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 20:03 (twenty-one years ago)

enh i dunno.

he's been awful this year. and even in a good year was seriously overpaid.

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

they're all overpaid! he was the soul of the team!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

ha! we finally got rid of jalen rose. too bad we couldn't unload eddie robinson on you too.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

speaking of soul, did anyone happen to catch the last two laker games against san antonio and indy?

will the lakers make it five consecutive blowouts in san antonio tomorrow? (yes) and then six in dallas thursday? (maybe).

dan (dan), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 21:49 (twenty-one years ago)

everyone is excited about rose here, phil, but i am v. dubious.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

zach randolph busted,
marijuana in the car...
who does he play for?*

*my poor damned old Blazers that's who.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:08 (twenty-one years ago)

and your fantasy basketball team... sucka!!!!

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

that 25 point "code of conduct" is really working out for the jailblazers, isn't it?

rgeary (rgeary), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:18 (twenty-one years ago)

*sniff*

My poor Spurs... why the hell did the front office decide to restructure the damn team, anyway? They should've just left well enough alone, damn it. Sure, some of them were going to retire, sure -- that should've just been the cue to pick up fresh, young talent, not completely fragment the whole team, damn it.

I'm very pessimistic about the Spurs this season, obv. :(

Tenacious Dee (Dee the Lurker), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

everyone is excited about rose here, phil, but i am v. dubious.

you're right to be dubious. he's not much of a team player, can't play defense, and hasn't been shooting very well for the past two years. and he'll probably be unhappy in toronto too.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

i STILL think it's a good trade. davis wasn't exactly great in the clubhouse either, and dumping his and jyd's contracts allows for some wiggle room under the salary cap.

raps could sure use a big man tho..

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

don't hate on rose, he'll be fine.

p.s. I unconditionally love everyone who was ever a pacer.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

on a positive note, chris bosh is awesome and charmingly coltish.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

There was an interview in the Star today with Rose. He said on previous teams his selfishness stemmed from being the only real offensive threat. Now that he's playing with Carter, Rose said he'll defer to the "legitimate superstar."

Christian Rawk (Christian Rawk), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

oh but i have a long-standing hatred of the michigan wolverines...

anyhow, i think davis will be much happier in chicago, like his wife is here and all.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Jalen Rose must be a jerk, he hasn't fit in ANYWHERE he has played. He definitely isn't nearly as good as he thinks he is.

earlnash, Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

jyd was GREBT! Who cares if their the lowest scoring team, they make up with it by being the best defensive side in the NBA at the moment. Somehow. And their 5th in the Conference aren't they?

This new guy sounds like an ass.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

in 17 or so games they've scored less than 70 points five times already this season - that's as much as they previously had combined for in franchise history!! their offense was embarrassingly inept and needed heeeellllllllllppppp

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

but mark jyd scored like 15 points for chicago last night!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i seriously doubt he'll be able keep up an .800 percentage from the field fritz

plus rose is just as liable to outdo himself in a raps debut - that's what happens with trades sometimes

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

rose - six points and 8 assists
marshall - 27 points

Christian Rawk (Christian Rawk), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 03:23 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah we all kind of slept on marshall...

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
Really interesting trade in the association today. I think it makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Isiah's lucky he's working for a team that doesn't care if it's payroll is 90 mil for the next two seasons. Marbury is only 26 as scary as that is... It'll be interesting to see if the team jels. I don't see them becoming anywhere near elite though, and they've basically given up on improving thru the draft. Better today, but the team could get REALLY bad REALLY quickly (kind of Isiah's M.O.).

Phoenix is 20 mil under the cap next year after getting out of that horrible Penny Hardaway contract and when McDyess, Googs, and Charlie Ward come off the books this summer. That makes them one of like 5 teams with cap room, meaning they can make a run at Kobe or whoever. PLUS they get two first round draft picks AND Marcej Lample and the rights to Milos Vujanic, probably the top Yuogslavian PG. Sucks to lose Marbury but they were going nowhere this year and can now quickly rebuild around Amare and Marion. Bad now, but could be in the thick of thing in the West in two to three years. A lot of IFs though.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 05:22 (twenty-one years ago)

oof. well there goes frank williams' shot at more PT

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 05:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I dunno... with Ward and Eisley gone, he's prolly the first guard off the bench (once he gets healthy).

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 05:44 (twenty-one years ago)

he had a few really impressive games when he was starting.. those 2 or 3 games.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 05:46 (twenty-one years ago)
