Funniest 30 mins. of TV I've caught in a while. Just seeing P. Hilton and Nicole Ritchie interact w/people in the real world is worthy of anthropological enquiry.

Greatest/funniest moments on 1st episode:

Paris' thoughts on having a well in her room, quoted roughly: "What is a well for? I have NEVER seen anything like that."

Nicole R. on Southern people and Wal-Mart: "Is it true that Southern people hang out at Wal-Mart? 'Cuz that's what I've heard."
Paris' response: "What's Wal-Mart?"

Paris at the local supermarket, complaining about being charged for purchasing food: "Why can't they just give it all to us?"

Paris and Nicole commenting on family boy's good looks:

I heard the same thing, Leee. I don't see why they'd release it, though, since the first tape did its job so nicely (nobody can tell me it wasn't Paris' publicist that leaked that tape in the first place).
I wasn't totally hooked on TSL either. I feel like the girls are intentionally playing along, and the trouble is neither of them have a sense of humour. But I have a feeling it's going to get good, quick.

It was on last night, teeny. And I LOVE the little boy who made the cheese sandwich for Tinkerbell. Does Paris even love her dog or does she think it's just a hot fashion accessory? I dunno. My initial peppy enthusiasm wore off pretty quick as the series went on, admittedly. I just lost interest, due to the later episodes just not being as farkin' hilarious as the pilot. BUT I read somewhere, there's going to be a cross-country road trip version of the show and that it will start somewhere 'round April, so...I'll keep my eyes peeled for that.

Paris Hilton kicked by horse during taping of The Simple Life 2
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Paris Hilton was taken to hospital Friday after a horse she was riding threw her off and kicked her in the stomach during the taping of The Simple Life 2, a reality show featuring the hotel heiress and a friend on a 30-day cross-country trip.
Hilton, 23, was first treated at the scene in rural Florida north of Tampa, then taken to a hospital, said Chris Alexander, publicist for 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles.
The kick to the stomach left her bruised but she was not seriously injured, said St. Joseph’s Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Patterson. Hilton was released about three hours after she was brought in and was never admitted to the hospital, she said.
Hilton was able to walk around immediately after the accident, Alexander said.
Camera crews were taping the socialite-turned-TV star when she was thrown, Alexander said.
The sequel to The Simple Life features Hilton and Nicole Richie on a monthlong cross-country trip with no money, credit cards, cell phones or boyfriends. The show is set to hit Fox in June.
Hilton, the leggy blonde hotel heiress, and Richie, daughter of singer Lionel Richie, helped make the first season of The Simple Life a huge success for Fox.
