How well do Altoids age?

I ask because I just found an opened, 3/4 empty tin of the regular kind that I know I purchased and opened in Feb. of last year in my backpack.

Yeah, I've got some in my desk at work that a co-worker gave me because she didn't like them. I can't remember how long ago that was, but it seems to me it's been at least a year. I had one recently and it was not inedible.

(I don't like them much either, though I'm annoyed that when I finally stopped looking for ginger altoids, they suddenly started to appear again, all over the place. I guess I should get back into them, but they remind me of my last girlfriend, which is slightly sad, though maybe not so sad that I couldn't get to enjoy them again.)

they tend to become crumbly after a few months, and taste a bit stale. but i wouldn't say inedible.
