Obviously similar questions will have been asked before, but if you were being interviewed to be PA to a fairly famous film writer/director, what should you ask? What should you offer? Interview help, as ever, needed and appreciated. Ta!

Is it Michael Winner? Compliment him on his adverts.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

What should you offer?

Lady if you have to ask etc.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:38 (twenty-one years ago)

For a change if I get the job it'll be my first EVER male (and straight) boss. I am considerably more nervous because of this - I really don't know how to work for a man!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I ain't gonna touch that.

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

If it's Michael Winner, offer to take him out for mash.

I can't think of questions to ask, but I'm horrific when it comes to interviews. Sorry Barry :(

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

If it's Michael Winner, I offer to take him out

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

No, it's not Michael Winner. I can hopefully deal with his questions (though "why do you want to be a PA? You're almost 30, for Christ's sake!" had better not be one of them), but I need to show I'm the best candidate. Sigh.

Hello.

I just had my interview, and it went pretty well. The chap was very keen to know if I could start on Monday (not in a "you start on Monday, congratulations!" kind of way, but in a "if we offer you the job..." kind of way), and of course I can.

So my heart says probably, but my head tells it to stop being so silly and points out that there were several other applicants, almost all of whom were no doubt younger, prettier and more chirpy than me.

The job may only be for 3-6 months, rather than permanent, but in my current situation that could actually be a plus. And it's certainly a good thing to put on my CV.

Anyway, I find out tomorrow morning.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 December 2003 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Good luck Barry.

robster (robster), Thursday, 4 December 2003 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope you knew more about Mr P0li@k0ff's work by the time that you got to the interview than you did the preceding Saturday!

Good luck, Baron L, finger crossed that you get it.

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 4 December 2003 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Good luck Bashizzle! I didn't realise it was so close!!

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 4 December 2003 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Nor did I, Sarah! Baron, I like that. I knew Barry had to be short for something.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 December 2003 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Well done, Markelby. I hope you get to shag loads of actresses. Jumping the gun a bit, I suppose. Get him to make your 'The Elephant and Mynah Bird' buddy caper.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 4 December 2003 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)
