Belated C4 Sexxy Momentz Thread

Was about to derail 'David Hemmings dead' thread but it felt wrong. This prog was interesting; of all the clip shows it by necessity had to go into non-Hollywood/mainstream territory. But facing it, there was only one pr0n movie ('D3bbie D0es D4llas') included. I'm not an expert, but that can't be right. (Oh, asn as per usual, they didn't really stick to picking 'moments'.)

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I was disappointed. There was really only one *really* sexy moment in the upper eschelons. (Missed most of the middle because HSA's mum decided to come and watch telly with us, and it got a bit embarrassing.) Or, at least, sexy to me, and that was Barbarella.

I was disappointed by the overwhelming preponderance of male-gaze lezzing up sequences clustering near the top. (And even though they did drag out lesbians to talk about them, you just KNEW the spots were voted for by straight males.) And the distinct lack of male homosexual moments. I mean, Queer As Folk was the only one that made the top ten!

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd agree in re: lezzing it up, but to be fair there are more to choose from in the mainstream. It might just've been me, but it was way ruder at the start than later on; also there was loads of UK 'smut' stuff then, but as I say no actual pr0n. Is there such a thing as pr0n canonization?

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes the lezzery did get a bit overwhelming. I hadn't seen the Buffy girl kiss thing before though and it was good.

More sex, less interview needed (Or "less talking head, more showing head") was the consensus round ours.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't see the whole thing, so I don't know if the stuff in the lower eschelons was ruder. :-(

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Jessica Rabbit was top ten as well which must say something that I can't put into words right now. I found it v. weird that comedy fumbling-round-the-house-with-your-pants-round-your-ankles sex in Basic Instinct was in any way sexy to watch. Or that shagging someone who would want to boil your household pets is sexy. People, as has been noted before, are strange.

And people...9 1/2 weeks? Oh, please.... :(

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

One thing that struck me is how many Hollywood sex scenes feature the man picking the lady up while they do it.

xpost Fatal Attraction was awful for this.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Possibly I got more drunk/numb, but it seemed to get more glossy at least. But mainstream cinema's never been that graphic.

btw 'Cruel Intentions' (Buffy lez kiss film) is top, much better than 'Dangerous Liaisons'.

Nu-Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I meant Fatal Attraction. Michael Douglas shagathons all melt into one big yawn-inducing mess round these parts.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i watched the final ten with dr vick: after several ppl were introduced as "sex expert", "relationships expert" etc, we enjoyed loudly guessing what kind of expert the next person on-screen must be

the top three seemed really quite odd but i forget what they were so meh

we decided we wanted to take the guy from fun lovin criminals home w.us

Best Guests: The Dreem Team!

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, further to last week's missionary position debate (or whatever it was): it all seemed a bit samey you know? Perhaps that's why they do the lifting business, for variety.

top three somehow involved 'cruel intentions' and 'dr no' which are pretty tame.

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't. Trust me on this one.

I managed this myself once, but it is over-rated...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

It only goes to show how freaking TINY most Hollywood starlettes are IRL.

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Have any mainstream Hollywood films used CGI in sex scenes yet?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

the only famous big time mainstream sex scene that's any good is in
'the postman always rings twice'. the rest (basic, fatal, body heat, et al) = all totally rubbish and unrealistic.

didnt see the show.

piscesboy, Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

"The big easy" i remember seeing and thinking 'that's recognisable as sex' rather than the 'going very fast and the lady shouts "yes" that passes for realism....

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

hey, that's my sex life you're mocking.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not me, mocking. And it's not you.

That only leaves one person...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it Stuart Maconie?
